Harvest day at pt. 2
The day continued with healthy balance of picking and tasting. Everyone was spoilt to the lunch of the century, complemented with beautiful wines so we got a taste of what all our hard work would turn in to.

The pesky Kea's were having a field day on our Avy Training day. Here's some more snaps from the day and theory training session the evening before.

I would highly recommend anyone who goes into the mountains to do an any course. Avalanches happen in any season and can affect multiple activities, not just snow related ones, such as hiking, climbing, and mountaineering. The information you gain will become invaluable if you ever found yourself in a high risk situation.

No time like Spring to start posting some of the winter adventures, right? ❄️
A couple of months ago, I got the chance to capture Aspiring Guide's Avalanche Skills Course 1 which took part as a part of the Women's Weekend I was running for work.
It was awesome to learn about avalanche safety at the same time as taking photos in the snow (first time). Win-win!

Would you helicopter in to a hike?
I had never considered it before as the concept seems to miss the point of hiking, but this was with no doubt a very luxurious way to get the daily steps in.

Untouched nature. Not found often anymore, and a shame it's only accessible by helicopter, but I suppose it's better that way, otherwise, it wouldn't stay untouched for long. I'm glad NZ still has some of these reserves, saved for wildlife and the wild to just be.
