One thing I love about Photography, and it's something I feel most people wouldn't think about... Every photo has a story. 📷
A few months ago, I was on a weekend camping trip with my dad at Worlds End Creek (Near Burra).
We got up very early one morning to climb this massive hill, so we could be at the top to watch the sunrise. We looked out to the horizon, the view was stunning, had my camera with me, got some nice shots.
I turned my head to the left, looked at the wind turbines, a rare sight for me. Something I noticed was the shadows over the hill, created by the rising sun. I casually took a photo, not thinking much of it, but was happy to get the unique shot.
Once I got home, I was going through and editing some shots. I was looking at the wind turbine photo, and this sudden thought popped into my head to make it black and white, after that quick change, my love for this photo grew dramatically. So much that it was time again to enter the Mono Awards, and I didn't hesitate to enter the photo, and I did the same for the upcoming Royal Adelaide Show.
Some of you may have seen my recent post, that turbine photo was chosen as a finalist, and even though it didn't win, just being a finalist in arguably the biggest photography competition in the state, that still felt like a win for me.
Last night I recieved an email saying that my photo has been highly commended in the Mono Awards, and again, just to be recognized is a win for me.
Moral of the story... Take the photo. Any shot can be special. 🙂
