Stewart Gould Photography

Stewart Gould Photography Commercial and advertising photographer whom also specialises in corporate photography, weddings, sports and aviation imagery. This is evident in his work.

From an early age Stewart would borrow his Dad’s camera to tinker with. He produced some good amateur images and won a few local competitions. The Air Force’s nine month photography course was very demanding. In some ways he found it more challenging that the instrument fitters course due to the large amount of maths, physics and chemistry involved. Not only was he training to take photos but was

also being trained on how to process the film and print the images, using black and white, slide film and colour films. He graduated in 1996 with the award of “Most Pictorial Photographer” and was soon after his first year out in the military’s real photographic world, transferred back to East Sale. Here he quickly became acquainted with the pilots of the RAAF’s aerobatic team the Roulettes. Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine he would work in such an environment, taking images that were released worldwide and flying in high performance military aircraft such as the PC-9′s and F/A-18 Hornet. Stewart and his wife would eventually decide to pursue life outside of the military and move to the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. Business boomed after opening his studio doors and soon he was tasked taking front cover images for magazines, weddings, portraiture, sports and later architectural photography. After several years as a freelance photographer, he applied for a full time job at the University of QLD (U.Q) as their marketing and research photographer. Here he would cover news worthy images for the world press, advertising images for UQ and a portfolio of varied assignments equally as varied as the National Geographic magazine, Stewart was in his element and considered the 230km per day round trip commute worth it for the experience and love of the work. Circumstances changed for the photographic department at UQ, Stewart decided to pursue his career again as a freelancer, catering more so this time creating high end images for the corporate and advertising world, extreme sports, aviation and weddings. Stewart is a very willing to share the photographic knowledge and experience he has gained over his 16 year profession. He is friendly and approachable and has maintained an extremely positive outlook towards life. Striving for the best at all times, ensuring others have a great experience whilst in his company and creating the highest quality of images that will last your lifetime. Stewart is married to the love of his life, his wife Tonia. With two lovely daughters Brittney and Elicia, he is a dedicated family man, enjoying all life has to offer and living it to his personal motto.

“Life is short……Live life it to its fullest potential”

Navy photographer in the making? Luis showed a keen interest to change careers. I hope he was chosen to train as a photographer in the Navy. The selection phase is very strict in the military to become a photographer. It is in my opinion the second best job in the military. Who can beat being a pilot-really!!!
