Chontelle Burns: Nouveau Rise Photography

Chontelle Burns: Nouveau Rise Photography I am mostly a wildlife and pet photographer, but I love being able to capture moments and show people just how beautiful our world and the people in it are.

I'm currently a hobby photographer, but would love to eventually become a professional photographer. I love photography and I am always willing to expand my experience and have fun with new and different shoots and learn new editing techniques. AWARDS - PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR

I have also contributed photos and newly witnessed behaviour of local rakali to the Australian Platypus Conservancy, and also photographed and fundraised for the cats along the Stockton Breakwall with The Stockton Breakwall Cat Rescue & Pound Babies group.

For all our ocean and wildlife lovers out there, and my close followers, all of you know that my fiance and I've recently spent a week over in Rarotonga and Aitutaki, enjoying everything the Cook Islands, it's wildlife, beauty and the friendly locals have to offer.

One of those things being incredibly important not only for Rarotonga itself, it's culture and the lagoon surrounding the island, but also for the health and diversity of our oceans: coral reefs.

Te Ara o te Akau Inc is a community-led coral restoration initiative that is dedicated to protecting and revitalising reefs locally in the Cook Islands.
Through this initiative, food security is strengthened, biodiversity is preserved and the natural heritage of the Cook Islands is preserved for generations to come.

For those interested in buying items and supporting this, they sell:
• t-shirts that feature their logo
• Reef friendly sunscreen

🐠🪸For those who are visiting Rarotonga, they do volunteer weekend coral nursery visits where visitors wanting to lend a helping hand are able to get involved.
🪸🐠 They also have coral frames that you can adopt!

If you are interested in making any purchases or wanting to head out to the nurseries, send them a message or email.

Every t-shirt and bottle of sunscreen directly contributes to their coral reef restoration efforts in the Cook Islands.
Every extra page LIKE 👍 extends their audience reach by getting the word out and means their efforts and posts will reach more people (including hopefully more visitors who will get involved!), so please LIKE their page and follow for updates on their work.

Thank you fellow nature lovers 😊🪸🐠

Hi everyone,
As winter has very quickly come to a close, I did go spend a week overseas watching the cloud predictor in the hopes of getting some Milky Way shots from the island of Rarotonga in the Cook Islands. All nights were either very windy or very cloudy, or both, so no Milky Way shots unfortunately.
However, we did spend a day swimming with Humpback whales in Aitutaki and I managed to capture a screenshot from some of my fiance's footage of the last - and BEST - footage of the day. Unfortunately, I do not yet have an underwater housing for my Nikon.

While we were focused on the whale in front of us, the whale behind us suddenly came up for a breach about 10m away. I tell you what - looking up at a breaching whale as it breaches so close to you is absolutely amazing!

As some of you are aware, we have started working on the backyard and I've been spending a fair bit of time on planting bulbs and seedlings ready for some amazing colour and smells in Spring... It all reminds me of bringing this little one back home in November 2012. Lots of flowers and bugs in the grass while exploring on her first morning at home!
Selena's turning 14 years old later this year. She may be asthmatic, has enlarged and misshapen heart, and arthritis in the elbows, but she's still determined to jump up and crawl into the tiniest spots just to relax! 🐱🐾

My partner and I went chrysanthemum flower picking at The Little Tin Shed in Medowie for our fourth anniversary last week (part one of two, part two was nighttime kayaking in search of stingrays, crabs and sharks).
This morning I wanted to take a shot that incorporated him and one of the flowers we picked. After some brief editing and background removal, I think I've got what I was after ❤️🌼

It's getting to that time of the year again... Start your engines and start planning ahead of time, ready to head on out and capture the Milky Way's galactic core 😍
This shot was my first attempt of astrophotography, at Zenith Beach, NSW in April 2024.
