August is almost over so I guess last chance to show you my picture I took for this month of the calendar.

Here's what the Fearleaders themselves had to say about this image: "We dedicate this month to our friendships. Since friendships are also relationships, we must nourish and cherish them. They evoke a form of radical softness outside of a romantic relationship, based on trust, kindness and intimacy. We should not be afraid to show this to the world – and to our friends as well. Because it’s not only liberating and bonding at the same time, it’s also friggin’ cute, right?"

Some encounters stay with me for a long time... I've met Nathalie very briefly over a year ago. Still, she has left her mark. The reality and experience of transitioning is something I can only begin to grasp. How it feels to have such a massive dissonance between who you are and how you are expected to be I can only begin to imagine. The amount of willpower it takes to overcome this dissonance I will probably never muster.
The strength I have seen in her, her honesty with herself, how she is true to herself has seriously left me in awe.

My fascination for dance and bodies in motion has started so long ago, I can't event remember what sparked it initially.
Dance, like photography and music, is making me feel more than what meets the eye. As if it were unlocking another layer of existence. Something that's always there but invisible, dance is like a medium that makes these feelings palpable.
Many moons ago I had the great pleasure to work with and capture their intricate, intense and and deeply personal improv dance. An experience that has stayed with me ever since ❤️

Talking about inspirational women (there's been an cumulation of them on my feed lately and I'm loving it):
I've had the great pleasure to get to know and photograph - ertc film director, feminist and prn activist. If there has ever been a genre that's in desperate need of reformation it's that one. Thank you Bea for taking on an industry that's so heavily dominated by patriachic male gaze and introducing a feminist and empowering view. The world (and so many other fields of work) desperately needs people like you! ❤️

Here's what I said to myself a while back:
I want my work to be intentional and purposeful. I want to create something with meaning, a body of work that celebrates life and the human existence.
That was the bottom line for my photoshoot with
I am deeply in love with what we've created and with the natural and open mind Jasmin brought to the shoot. She is a wonderfully inspirational, confident spirit and I hope these pictures convey that.
Massive thanks also to .greinecker for creating this vibrant yet subtle look, you're a true artist with the make up and hair brush!
