It still feels somewhat surreal that I am fortunate enough to be able to photograph aircraft for a living. Six months ago, the world of business aviation transformed from something mystical and completely unattainable into my day-to-day job. Walking freely around the airfield at Vienna airport, being escorted to the parking position of a Bombardier Global 5000 at Berlin airport or being welcomed to the General Aviation Terminal in my hometown of Bucharest all seem incredible yet are as palpable as a door handle.

However, beyond the jet engines, luxurious interiors and shiny fuselages are people – wonderful, extraordinary and fascinating individuals who allow these machines to fly and be flown, and who take care of every single detail while on board. It is these people with whom I have really fallen in love and connected at a profound level. Through their experience and wisdom, I have discovered the essence of business aviation and the secrets whispered in the cockpit. I have also learned what it takes to get an aircraft off the ground, what it needs to safely fly through the harshest of weathers, and ultimately to land safely at its destination.
