Heute mal in einer ganz anderen Sache.

Der Krieg in der Ukraine beschäftigt mich sehr. Nicht zuletzt auch, weil ein ehemaliger Mitarbeiter, Alexey, ein sehr begabter Mensch, der sein Herz am rechten Fleck trägt, in Lviv lebt.

Kurz nach den ersten Attacken in seiner Heimat habe ich mit ihm telefoniert und ihm angeboten, mit seiner Frau zu uns nach Wien zu kommen. Er wollte sein Zuhause nicht verlassen, sondern sich mit all seinen Möglichkeiten darum bemühen, den Geflüchteten, die in der Westukraine angekommen sind, zu helfen.

Vermutlich gibt es viele Leute, die helfen wollen, sich aber schwer damit tun, nicht zu wissen, was genau mit einer Spende ermöglicht wird oder an wen genau eine monetäre Hilfe geht.

Vor zwei Tagen hat Alexey mir folgende Nachricht geschickt, die ich mit Euch teilen möchte.
Ich stehe mit meinem Namen dafür, dass es hier mit rechten Dingen zugeht.
Wer helfen möchte und kann, der sollte das auch tun.

"Hi Andreas, We have some good and bad news.

The good side — all our parents (my and my wife’s parents)
are alive! My mother left Mariupol and now she lives with her grandma in Berdyansk (the occupation territory).

My wife’s parents also left the Mariupol and they are trying to get the Lviv (its 1200 km from Berdyansk).

The bad news — all of them now have nothing. All of houses were destroyed.
So they lost everything: jobs, houses and even friends. And now they are very sick (after 3 weeks
in the basement and 3 days at the bus station).

We hope everything will be fine, but we decided to start collecting money for the new flat or rent.

I dont want to get any help from you because you gave me knowledge, experience and my computer,
I still working on that powerful machine! And now I’ve got a good salary, nice office and all of that — because of you.

But if somebody in Austria you know wants to help my parents — you could share that info about my mother
and I also attached the photo:

Hello, my name is Alexey and I’m a retoucher from Ukraine.
My mother lives in Mariupol, she was able to get out of the shelling with risking her life. She lost her husband, her job, and today she found out that she no longer has her house. The entire region was wiped off by the Russians. She no longer has money to live, so I help her as much as I can. And now I started collecting money for her new house.
