If it wouldn’t have been for the spring blossoms! For one of my first bridal shoots, I scouted the designer, the model, and the location. I was sure the spring blossoms in Wachau would last for a while, but just to be sure, I called the municipal office of one of the villages to check on the apricot blossoms. „Fine,“ they said. „They’re almost gone this year. We’ve had heavy winds, and they’re nearly blown away everywhere in Wachau.“
I couldn’t believe what I heard, as I had already scheduled the dress pick-up, the model, hair & makeup, and my assistant for the same date. Without the blossoms, the vision of the shoot wouldn’t come alive!
So, I drove to Wachau the day before the shoot and found the last field of blooming blossoms you see in the pictures. Total driving time for the location check: 5 hours. The next day, we were up at 5 am, got hair and makeup done for our model, and headed back to Wachau for an exciting shoot that we’ll all never forget!
