Would it surprise you to know that I was a rebel as a child? 😱
Growing up as the only girl in the family, I vehemently refused to fit into the stereotypical gender mould. Instead of wearing dresses, playing with dolls, or having to learn embroidery, I wanted to climb trees, build with Lego, ride my bike through the dirt, and hang out with the boys. Occasionally, I would also play with 🔥 (literally, more on that some other time ). And so I did, just to be told how inappropriate I was and made to feel guilt and shame for not fitting in.
Today, while I do love flowery patterns, big bows, and flowy dresses, I refuse to be told what it means to be a woman and believe in defining womanhood on my own terms. 💪
This stunning portrait series of heroine and muse embodies the spirit of defying gender norms. It’s about blending the feminine and masculine, breaking boundaries, and embracing the rebel in us.
To tell the story, we took a traditional fairytale and switched the gender roles in it. Can you guess which one? 🤔
