5 THINGS I LOVE (5 I DON’T) ABOUT THE NEW GOPRO HERO 9

I used the new for about 2 months now and wanted to share my thoughts about the latest model.

PROS:

5K VIDEO AND 20-MEGAPIXEL PHOTO:
I like the ability to shoot in 5K up to 30fps. 5K is great if you want to reframe a shot cause you can crop without loosing quality. Also now your able to shoot 20mp photos instead of 12mp which is pretty cool.

IMPROVED BATTERIE LIFE:
The improved battery life is for sure one of my favourite features and you can feel the difference for sure.

CHANGEABLE LENS (AGAIN):
Not beeing able to change the lens was a hughe downside for me cause you had to use clip on ND filters where I was constantly worried to loose them and also if you break the glas of the lens it wasn't that easy to change it. 

BETTER HYPERSMOOTH:
The new Hypersmooth 3.0 delivers super smooth footage and I'm actually more than impressed how well it works.

FRONT DISPLAY:
The front screen on the new Hero 9 is actually pretty handy when filming yourself.

CONS: 

NO 1“ SENSOR & NO 10-BIT:
I would have loved to get an 1 inch sensor in the new GoPro cause this would have increased the dynamic range and it would be able to shot in 10-bit color. Also the low light ability would have increased a lot.

NO NEW SLOMO SETTINGS (4K 120fps):
4K in 60fps in definitely great but I would've loved get 4K in 120fps on the Hero 9. This hasn't changed since the Hero 6.

TOUCHSCREEN NOT RESPONDING PROPERLY:
In water it changes it self from Video to Photo or in a different mode. I expirienced the same somes in snow. The same weird things happend to me with my Hero 8.

HEAVIER AND BIGGER SIZE:
The new GoPro is heavier which can be a downside if you wanna use it for FPV Drone Shots. Otherwise I’m okay with the new weight.

HDMI CAN ONLY BE USED WITH MEDIA MOD
I tried to use the GoPro with a video mixer and it didn't work cause it can only use it with hdmi. Unfortunately a usb-c to hdmi adapter don’t works cause this is blocked from GoPro. The only way to get it to work with hdmi is with its media mod.

WORTH THE UPGRADE?
In my opinion it's worth the upgrade cause the pros outweight the cons.

In Salzburg and Tyrol you can for sure find some of the most beautiful places in Austria. You will always have a good time there and that's why we started for a short but sweet road trip to the Krimmler Waterfalls, Achensee and the surroundings of Innsbruck. Hope you guys get a little inspired to explore those areas by yourself.
