Engaged to my best friend, adventure buddy, photography partner, personal super model, my role model and biggest inspiration.
We’ve spent years capturing other people’s love stories, travels, sunsets, sunrises, building a camper van and a business. Somewhere in the middle of it all, we became the story I’ll never get tired of telling and will be telling for the rest of my life.
Love you to the moon and back and I can’t wait to spend forever serving and loving my best friend.

First 2 of our 30 day trip across Europe began in Munich, Germany. Took it easy and let the jet leg wear off before continuing on to our next country… Austria!
Lots more to come from this trip!

I used to look for “good photos”
Now I just try not to miss what’s already happening

This trip changed the way I shoot and made me realize how important it is to have something that doesn’t get in the way of the moment

That’s why on this road trip to Vancouver Island I brought the Canon PowerShot V1 with me. It gave me the quality I want for both photos and video, but in a way that still let the moments feel authentic

And instead of letting everything sit on my phone, I’ve been trying to actually bring these moments into real life

Using the Canon IVY 2 and Canon Frame Lab to print them has made it feel way more permanent, like something I can come back to instead of just scrolling past

Let’s catch up on the van build…
We are back to posting all the steps on this crazy project. So much to catch you guys up on but to start with… framing
Framing is important to get right and took a ton of planning out to make sure we maximized our space, weight and strength. But putting it all together really wasn’t that hard (other than trying to line up our framing with the rivet nuts)

Here’s what you need to do it yourself on your van build

Materials:
1x sheets of 3/4” Baltic birch plywood
1x 12ft 2x4
M4,m5,m6,m8 rivet nuts and bolts
Liquid nails construction adhesive
Waterstop paint primer
Pocket hole screws

Tools:
Astro 1450 plus nut tool
Table saw
Chop saw
Drill (with countersink bit)
Paint brush and tray
Hammer
Caulking gun
Abrasive scoring pad
Clamps
Saw horse

3 things I learnt traveling Iceland with strangers…

1. You don’t make friends by waiting for them to find you.
You make them by putting yourself in situations that require presence. Adventure compresses time and shared experience accelerates connection. A week of waterfalls, windburn and long van ride chats did more for me than a year of staying comfortable ever could.

2. A camera doesn’t just document a trip, it changes the way you see it. Having something in my hands (even an entry level camera like the R100) forced me to slow down and notice light, patterns and human moments I would’ve otherwise missed with just my phone. When you’re looking for photos you just look a little longer and see more. It wasn’t about having pro camera gear, it was about having a reason to pay attention and that changed the whole trip for me.

3. The right structure creates freedom.
I have never taken a group trip because I was scared I would lack freedom but really freedom was exactly what it gave. Traveling with meant I didn’t have to think about logistics, timing, bookings, scams or any other unknowns. All I had to think about was experiencing the country and meeting the people.
I went to Iceland thinking I was celebrating a birthday.
Turns out I was rebuilding something I didn’t realize I’d been neglecting.

If you’ve been feeling stuck, maybe it’s not a mindset problem.
Maybe it’s just time to spark your creativity and ignite new friendships.

Everyone wants to travel somewhere warm during the winter… Don’t be like everyone else
Some of the best travel experiences and travel photography is taken in a warm winter jacket and gloves.
I’ve always said the best photos are the ones others don’t dare to take. Sometimes braving the weather others choose to avoid is what can set your work apart from others.
Consider this your sign…
Go to Iceland

If you want to take the same trip I did here, checkout

Sometimes it’s so easy to get caught up in what u have going on that you don’t look back at the trail of stories you are leaving behind. I often find myself taking photos and moving on and forgetting. The whole point of a photo is to remember, to capture a story and in most cases YOUR story. I’ve been blessed to have been taken to some unreal places through my photography and here are a few of em.
