Which detail would catch your eye first-the chrome infinity lock or the original box?

From early 9-element and later 8-element Leica Elmarit 28mm lenses to distinctive transitional examples, every detail deserves a closer look. The first-version barrel, short rear element for Leica M5 and CL compatibility, and original box bearing the 11801 code hold particular appeal for discerning collectors.

⚡️If you are considering selling a similar lens, we would be delighted to hear from you

A landmark moment in photographic history: the Leica 0-Series, Lot 3, sold for €4.25 million at Wetzlar Camera Auctions on 10 October 2026.

Made in 1923, two years before Leica’s official launch, it is one of just 22–25 cameras produced for testing. Only 16 are known to survive worldwide.

Watch as the hammer falls on an extraordinary piece of Leica’s legacy.
