Clemens Weiss Photography

Clemens Weiss Photography Hi my name is Clemens Weiss and I'm a landscape and travel photographer. On this page I want to shar I started using my dads old camera back in 2013.

My name is Clemens Weiss and on this page I want to share my best images and even more important the stories behind the shots. However, I didn't become serious about photography, especially landscape photography until 2015. A trip to the Isle of Skye in Scotland made me realise landscape photography is what I want to do and I have put in a lot of effort and time to become better and better. When I

'm telling people how much time and effort goes into these images, they think I'm a bit crazy and maybe I am. But when an image comes together, I forget about the cold and short nights, the long drives and hikes that are necessary to be at the right place at the right time.

Definitely not ready for winter to be over when April looks like this. My first time actually skiing in Switzerland and it did not disappoint. Summer like temperatures meant very early starts but the early morning light makes it absolutely worth it and also means more time for sunbathing and beer at the hut.

What a weekend, great weather, great views, great company, great skiing. Spring ski touring at its finest followed by beers at the hut. Came home slightly sunburnt but really freakin happy. And actually got a few photos I'm really happy with.

Happy that I got my first milkyway photos this year! Doing more astrophotography than I managed the last few years has been one of my goals for 2022 but so far it hasn't gone well, during the moon phases that makes shooting milkyway possible either the weather hasn't worked out, I was in scotland (where it was obviously raining the whole time) or I was out with covid and not fit enough to hike into the mountains. This week I took a big gamble because the weather forecast wasn't ideal but I went out anyway. It worked out really well and I couldn't have asked for better conditions. This was just a quick photo I took after I was done shooting, the "proper" milkyway photos take a while to edit so I'll post them when they're ready.

Stoked to share my first milky way pictures from this year. Really enjoy doing astrophotography but I haven't managed to do it frequently the last two years. Hoping for more nights like this. Thanks .ferk for setting up your tent in such a picturesque way. Swipe to see my sleeping setup (far less comfortable but I only took two 30 minutes naps that night so not sure if carrying a tent up a mountain would have been worth it). Currently working on my milky way editing skills, stay tuned for more.

Me actually posting a picture I only took a few days ago? Not sure that ever happened before (usually takes somewhere between 6 months and 3 years). But here is a sunset panorama from last Monday. Very happy to call this place my backyard, looking forward to what else life in Innsbruck has to offer. w/ and .ferk

Autumn vs Winter. I spent a few weeks travelling around the South Island of New Zealand in autumn as well as in Winter. So I ended up going to a few places twice. It was fascinating to see how the same places look differently just a few months apart. Let me know which one you think is better. (Unfortunately I didn't have the exact same perspective, but this will do)

Moody clouds and snow covered peaks make for some absolutly unreal photo opportunities. Being in a plane above those peaks makes it even better. The few days of the year like that, makes the majority of days I spend sitting at my desk so much more tolerable.

Haven't posted a lot of Scotland content lately, but I actually still have a fair amount of pictures from the highlands that I haven't posted yet. This is is definitely one of my favourite places there. Just an insane view and it takes a bit of effort to get up there (not a long hike, just a short very steep path that can be quite slippery). Thanks for taking the picture of me . Can't decide between the narrow or wide field of view. Let me know what you think works best. w/ .photography.

That famous Wanaka Tree in New Zealand. Probably the most photographed tree in the entire country, when I visited that place during sunrise it was absolutely packed with photographers. Did not really enjoy the shooting experience, but I was definitely happy with the results. Although its a big shame that someone sawed off the low hanging branch thats just above the water. Such a sensless act of destruction.

Back in 2017 and 2018 I was shooting a fair amount of astrophotography. 2019 and 2020 I have barely done it (with pretty much only one successful shoot in either year). Which is a shame because I love the experience of being in the mountains at night looking at millions of stars. It also makes for some great photos. My big goal for 2021 is to try and shoot a lot more milkyway photos.

Doing a scenic flight over Fiordland on the South Island of New Zealand was definitely one of the most memorable experiences I was lucky enough to have. Not cheap, but I will never forget those 30min high above these incredible mountains. Wouldn't mind to go back there now.
