My second award from this years photo competition: Best Dance Photo

When it comes to adventure elopements, some couples worry they can’t have any traditional rituals at all on their day. Everything must be out of the box or unexpected.

But it’s so not true…In fact…maintaining tradition but in untraditional places or ways makes it all even cooler. That’s what elopements are about, after all, right?

Flipping the expected. Finding new takes on old ways. Adapting old rites to contemporary styles. Making marriage modern.

Their first dance as a couple was to songs that were deeply significant to them both. Alone on the mountain, they swayed arm in arm, cheek to cheek, tears falling silently as the music carried them.

For five minutes, I just observed as they danced there, caught up in the moment and each other. Pretty sure I cried, too, tbh.

The skies burned behind them as the sun set through the clouds…

…an old tradition embraced in an untraditional place…

K&G and their whole crew had award winning personalities, so obviously their group photo won an award at this year ☺️🏆

Their October elopement in the Dolomites was one of the dreamiest sunsets I saw all year. We had so much golden autumn light on that day, with crystal clear skies and comfortable temperatures. From getting ready, to a lakeside first look and picnic, to their mountaintop vow ceremony by private helicopter transfer, everyone was fun, funny and groovy.

They were serving hilarious candids all day long, I can’t wait to post more from this one!

K&G thank you for everything — your vibes, your trust, all of it!!

Rohan & Yagnika 💍 on a picture perfect spring evening, dashing along the waters of lake Como, she said yes! We started by getting on a separate boat, and meeting them in front of the iconic Villa del Balbianello, just as the sun was setting behind the mountains. A warm cruise across the lake took us past beautiful villas, and we ended the day with a gelato (as you do!)

Congratulations you two, I wish you such a wonderful and exciting season of wedding planning 🎊🍾🫶🏼

Early summer last year, A&M reached out to me about eloping somewhere near Lake Como. They loved the mountains, the water and the adventure of it all. We threw around so many ideas — we bounced between a hiking elopement in the Dolomites, a villa wedding on Lake Garda, and even a sunrise elopement in Venice. Ultimately, they were swayed by the easy luxury of Lake Como, and we got to work planning.

We only had 3 months to put everything together! The beautiful thing about eloping though, is that it can be done in a short time frame. Especially with someone who knows the area and can fast track you to all the right resources 😉

By the end of July, we had it all figured out:

Getting ready at the beautiful Grand Hotel Tremezzo
A ceremony at the stunning Villa Carlotta gardens
An easy afternoon seeing the sights by boat
A private dinner, nestled in the hills of Bellagio, in a glass house

The weather was perfect, the food was delicious, and the drinks were cold.

What else can you ask of a Lake Como elopement?

This year, I still have availability for July and September in Como. NOW is exactly the time frame I planned this beautiful elopement day for them, and yes, it’s so possible!!

THIRD award in a row 🤯 I can’t say I’m too surprised it was from J&A’s engagement session in the Dolomites last September. It was just banger after banger that day with these two.

Thank you to the judges for seeing the vision and work behind the shot. This is my fourth international award at this location, and clients literally ask for this composition with the reflection and say, among other reasons, it’s why they book me (no pressure 😅). I think it’s safe to call it my signature shot by now haha

In this session, I was about 4 weeks post broken collar bone and in so much pain. I had a migraine the entire morning. I still can’t believe I made it through last September, and even managed two Junebug awards out of it 😵‍💫 that’s either dedication or insanity. Probably both but honestly more of the latter 😂

Thrilled to share this award with my talented friends and colleagues and . We’re an unstoppable force out here!!!!

The most epic places to elope in 2027 👇 which would you choose?

The Italian Dolomites - jagged peaks, lush landscapes, and the best food and luxury chalets imaginable. A Dolomites elopement is a classic.

Lake Como, Italy - elegance, luxury and old money vibes. Eloping on lake Como is perfect in May and September!

Julian Alps, Slovenia - A hidden gem, full of turquoise rivers, flower covered meadows and plunging waterfalls. An elopement in Slovenia is for those who love the look of Switzerland but want something of the beaten path, more rustic and humble.

Lofoten Islands, Norway — Imagine eloping in June under the midnight sun, as the fjords light up with dramatic golden light. If you elope in Norway, you’ll find so many epic landscapes it’ll be hard to pick one spot.

Japan - Eloping in Japan means to immerse yourself in a culture synonymous with harmony, beauty and intentional ceremonies. Just think about it — standing under Mount Fuji or a pink Sakura tree as you cuddle your lover…

Austria — For those who love green meadows, endless hiking trails and a good knödel, elope in Austria. Don’t forget about ski season!! A winter elopement in Austria turns your wedding into a winter wonderland.

German Alps - The German alps offer so much variety. Explore blue-green lakes, medieval castles and vibrant valleys peppered with quaint villages.

Hawai’i - Eloping in Hawaii combines the best of sandy beaches with incredible jungle views.

Faroe Islands - A Faroe Islands elopement is perfect for someone who craves wild weather and sprawling landscapes.

Patagonia - Both Chilean and Argentinian Patagonia are ripe locations for the an adventure elopement. December and March are the best months.

Winter elopements in the Dolomites 🐾🐕🏔️🛷❄️💍 there are so many activities to do outdoors here, that winter weddings and elopements are just as incredible as summer and fall. It’s less busy, slower…the light is soft. Snow crystals and icicles become beautiful, ethereal wedding details.

It’s a winter wonderland in the Dolomites from December to March, and if you’re not skiers, then let me suggest dog sledding and warm drinks. This is a great 3-4 hour activity which allows you to relax, explore in the snow and also pet some super good boys and girls. You even get to drive your own sled during the tour!

It’s perfect for a very unique engagement idea, elopement activity or anniversary celebration. I recommend February through March.

📣 PRO TIP: This dog sledding company books out MONTHS in advance, so now is the time to start thinking about your 2027 winter elopement in the Dolomites!!
