Tales from the ground.
I can really feel the last days laying around on the floor, sitting in the grass and moving in weired angles. Maybe thats also a sign of getting older hahaha.
Anyhow, I really enjoyed shooting flowers and small details with the SEL50150GM - it is not just for portrait, but an amazingly versatile lense for nature Photography as well.

*Flamant Rose"
What a beautiful animal! Really love photographing these characteristic birds. Just recently returned form the workshop and wanted to show you a comparison between the raw and the final edit. You can see all the adjustment that I made.
📷 One thin to mention about the capture itself. The raw is quite dark and the reason for that is, to protect the highlights of the high contrast scene. There is plenty of room in the sensor.
💻 For the edit, I made global and local adjustments and try to make it subtle, esthetic and beautiful as I always try to do so!

Mindblowing encounters during the Camargue Workshop
I was asked if I made a video from photos before, as the has such a fast framerate. The answer is, not until now. It is just amazing, that every single image is a full resolution raw file with tons of tonal and dynamic range for amazing individual images. If you hold the camera steady enough you have a video as well;-)

What a magnificent and equally beautiful bird. The strong beek and its wonderful appearance make it a very special bird. Now they are starting to build their nests again and prepare everything for a successful breeding season. Mostly they are really shy, but there are some nice places you can photograph them up close.

*Spring Birds*
The variety of birds is starting to grow again. Birds returning from the south and start breeding in our nature. Some of them nest in the forest, other just on bare meadows.
I just enjoy watching and photographing them.

ask yourself - why do you travel?
At least I asked myself in the past days and weeks what drives me and why I want to see those amazing places, the magnificent animals around us and experience the raw nature.
And if I am lucky, I can get away with a meaningful picture and a smile on my face!

*take the weather*
What do all these different photos have in common? A rather large variety of scenes and seasons, but still there is something that make them work together. And maybe you already guessed it, it is the weather. All of the Images have been taken in challenging or even miserable conditions. Freezing cold, blasting winds or pouring rain. But thats exactly the special thing about it. That makes the images something else than just a picture of a beautiful place.

Most of the images are from iceland, but there are two photos that are taken somewhere else. Do you know which ones? Let me know in the comments.

It is often more powerful to capture the animal with its natural habitat, than just make a photo of the head or full body. Some may disagree, but thats how I feel. If I see the anmial in their beautiful and stunning environment, I can combine my love for landscape photography with my passion for wildlife photography. To align both perfectly is really challenging.
