"'Away' is here with me" shows, intermittently, a working oscillating fan, and a sequence of terms taken from Encyclopedia of Consumption and Waste: The Social Science of Garbage. It aims at interrogating the relations among consumption, use, and waste within the realm of manufactured domestic objects. The product, as a social form, is tied up with a particular program. The video functions as a platform for a conversation between the concealed aspects of the object’s program and the changing roles of the consumer along the existence of the object. Hence, the product's primary purpose is explicitly displayed by means of its ex*****on, while its manufacturing process and post-disposal existence are presented through the referential power of language.
