This little one was an absolute dream and slept through the entire session! 🥹
Parents ask me all the time, “Do you have kids of your own? You handle babies so easily!” The answer is actually no, I don’t! It all comes from 12 years of hands-on experience doing this every single day.
Over the years, I’ve learned how to read a baby’s subtle cues and tune into their energy. It’s almost second nature now! Honestly, one of my favorite parts of a session is sharing these soothing tricks with new parents to help make those first few weeks at home a little easier.
To all the new moms and dads out there—you’re doing amazing, and I’m always here to share what I’ve learned along the way. 🤍

The charm of photography lies in what you can’t predict.

If you try to keep every detail under control during a toddler session, you’ll miss the real story. This session was a wild ride from start to finish. But when this little king climbed up, stood over his parents, and raised his hand in victory, it became my absolute favorite shot of the day.
As photographers, our job isn’t always to orchestrate perfection, it’s to neutralise the chaos and find the meaning within it. The unpredictable moments are the ones that can never be duplicated. They are raw, real, and priceless.

Never fight the energy in the room—use it. ✨

A newborn photo shoot isn’t just about getting a picture
—it’s about celebrating a whole new life.

After 9 long months of carrying, waiting, and going through so much to bring a baby into the world, moms deserve to freeze these fleeting early days. It’s a moment to dream a little, have fun, and create a tiny fairytale memory for their baby to look back on when they’re grown up. 

This job means so much more to me when parents from 10 years ago message me out of nowhere. They show me those photos and thank me for capturing that time—now that their baby isn’t a baby anymore. Seeing how much those memories still mean to them years later reminds me just how special this work really is. 🤍

People often see soft, serene newborn portraits and assume every baby sleeps peacefully through the whole session! The truth? Newborns are little human beings with big feelings.
When babies are unswaddled, they can feel a bit insecure without that snug, cozy sensation they’re used to at home. They stretch, squirm, and keep us on our toes—and that is 100% normal!
Newborn photography isn’t just about pressing a button. It’s about making sure your baby feels secure, supported, and comfortable every step of the way. Even when they’re wide awake and full of energy, I take all the time needed to gently settle them into place.
Creating these timeless memories requires gentleness, deep care, and a whole lot of patience (sometimes 20 minutes of soothing for just one single frame!). If your baby is restless during your session, don’t worry—you’re in calm, experienced hands. ❤️

Too much cuteness to handle! 🥹
She spent the whole session crawling right up to me and my lens, full of curiosity. I was down on the floor, pure chaos and 100% cuteness overload.
Even when it makes taking photos a challenge, I’d trade a perfectly posed shot for these real, candid moments any day. Truly the best part of my job. 🤍

Sometimes, I like to shoot directly in black and white—I love the raw looks straight out of camera, captured just as the moment happened.
To me, newborn photography isn’t about perfection. It’s not about erasing every tiny mark or smoothing out skin until it doesn’t look real anymore.
Sure, I could edit all of that out in Photoshop. But why would I want to?
I love the raw, real details. The dark, wild head of hair, the tiny skin peeling on their wrists, the soft fuzz on their shoulders, the delicate eyelashes, and the way they squeeze their eyes shut or frown when they’re settling down. Even the quiet little cries and furrowed brows tell a story.
Babies change impossibly fast. Every single day, they grow, and before you know it, those first few days feel like a blur. Years from now, when you look back at these photos, I don’t want you to just see a polished image—I want you to remember exactly how your baby looked and felt in your arms during those very first days.
Soft, quiet, imperfect, and completely perfect just as they are.

They say: Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.
Yes after 11 years in newborn and maternity photography, I still finding myself smiling through every session. I find myself the happiest when I’m working, yes it’s not easy, it can be really tiring, sometimes can be very challenging too, but that’s the fun part isn’t it? Holding these purist souls in my hands everyday is really a blessing I could ever wished for. 🤍
