In 2006, she had the honor to photograph and interview Ms Cesaria Evora being her guest at her home in Mindelo, Cape Verde. In 2007, she covered the life of the mentally disturbed, drug-addicts and homeless in Athens. Since 2010, she has been covering the consequences of the economic crisis in Greece. In 2011, she travelled to Tunisia to cover the Revolution of Dignity. She has travelled in India and Bangladesh to reveal the e-waste and shipbreaking yards. Since 2015, she is covering the refugee crisis in Greece and Europe, by travelling along with groups of refugees: Syrian refugees’ journey to Europe, Refugee children art therapy, interview of Maro Kouri on Huffington post. “There is an imaginary world behind our everyday reality and I am constantly looking for it. The source of my inspiration is the ability to observe the world and myself, the passion for travel, art and self-awareness. Above all what motivates me, is the unconditional love for people. Photography for me is a practice to stay in the Hear and Now, in the bliss of emptiness, an agent of growth for my soul. After all, we are all helpless against the events’ flow. Βιοδοιπορικό
Φωτογραφίζει και γράφει ασταμάτητα για την κοινωνική δικαιοσύνη στον κόσμο εδώ και 30 χρόνια, εστιάζοντας στην Αφρική και στην Ασία, στην Ιαπωνία, Ελλάδα και στη γη των Μάορι, τη Νέα Ζηλανδία.
Έχει παρακολουθήσει τα σεμινάρια του Κωνσταντίνου Μάνου (Magnum) και του Ed Kashi (VII, National Geographic). To έργο της παρουσιάζεται σε εκθέσεις διεθνώς σε γκαλερί, σχολεία, παζάρια, παραγκουπόλεις. Δημοσιεύει φωτογραφικά άρθρα στα National Geographic, BBC, LFI, Journal du Dimanche, Newsweek, Vice, Days Japan, Der Spiegel, Nzz, K, Vimagazino, Dagens Nyheter, CNN. Εργάζεται ως ανεξάρτητη φωτορεπόρτερ και εκπροσωπείται από το πρακτορείο Polaris Images στη Νέα Υόρκη.
Εθελοντικά συνεργάστηκε το 1998 σε νηπιαγωγείο του Σοβέτο - τότε γκέτο του Γιοχάνεσμπουργκ,, το 1994 στο Ψυχιατρικό Νοσοκομείο Αττικής για να ανοίξει η πόρτα στο κοινό στη θεατρική παράσταση των ασθενών, στο κέντρο παιδιών ΚΕ.ΠΕ.Π Λεχαινών και στη δομή ασυνόδευτων ανηλίκων «Μετάδραση», στις φυλακές Κορυδαλλού και στις φυλακές ανηλίκων Αυλώνα Δίδαξε φωτογραφία στις γυναίκες του ΚΕ.ΘΕ.Α Φυλακών Θήβας και τις γυναίκες του καταυλισμού της Κοιλάδας Μπεκά, στο Λίβανο, σε συνεργασία με την Unicef. Φωτογραφίζει και εκθέτει.

Από τον Ιούνιο του 2015 η Μάρω Κουρή μελετά τις ανθρώπινες σχέσεις και συμπεριφορές σπουδάζοντας Therapist Training στο International Institute for Therapy and Education στο Osho Humaniversity στην Ολλανδία και είναι πιστοποιημένη 4D Dream Coach.
Ως Photo - 4D Dream Coach διευκολύνει τους ανθρώπους να έρθουν κοντά στον εαυτό τους μέσω των βιωματικών εργαστηρίων “Φωτογραφίζοντας με το Κλικ της Καρδιάς μας” εμπλουτίζοντας τα με mindfulness και wellbeing, διαλογιστικές τεχνικές.
Η/ο συμμετέχουσα/ον αναζητά εμβαθύνοντας μέσα του, ανακαλύπτοντας κομμάτια του εαυτού του στη φωτογραφική διεργασία.
Κατά τη διάρκεια των μέτρων περι-Ορισμού (2020-2021), η αγάπη κι η ανάγκη της Μάρως για φροντίδα μέσα από την βιωματική, αυτογνωσιακή φωτογραφία και το πάθος της για το 4D Dream Coaching, «γέννησε» τα διαδικτυακά φωτοεργαστήρια «Φωτογραφίζοντας (σ)τον Περί – Ορισμό μου, “Φωτογραφίζω τα Όνειρά μου”, “Με ΦροντίΖω”, “Ανθίζω” και άλλα, με συμμετέχοντες από όλον τον κόσμο.
Προσφέρει φωτογραφικά σεμινάρια team-building σε στελέχη επιχειρήσεων στον κόσμο (3E, Novo Nordisk, Alstrom κ.ά).
Βρίσκει σημαντικό το να ερχόμαστε σε επαφή με τον εαυτό μας για το δέσιμο της ομάδας, να συναντάμε την εσωτερική έμπνευση και δημιουργικότητα για να συνδεόμαστε πιο αυθεντικά και με τα μέλη. Έτσι, ώστε ερχόμαστε με υψηλότερες επιδόσεις και χαρά στην εργασία μας.
Έχουν αποκαλέσει τη Μάρω «φωτογράφο της καρδιάς» διότι ξεκλειδώνει τις καρδιές και συνδέει τον νου με την καρδιά. «Κάνει κλικ η καρδιά και τη στιγμή που νιώθει το όποιο συναίσθημα, πατάς το κουμπί της κάμερας πλημμυρίζοντας από ευγνωμοσύνη», λέει. Στόχος είναι η Χαρά:

Η αποδοχή στην διαφορετικότητά μας αναδύεται στο δέκα ετών εργαστήριο στις “Μικρές Πατρίδες” της Αθήνας, στην οδό Αχαρνών και στους τόπους Προσευχής, στο Παζάρι Σχιστού, στο Ξημέρωμα στην Ιχθυόσκαλα. TEDx Πανεπιστήμιο Λάρισας 2021: «Η παρουσία των αισθήσεων στο φωτογραφικό κλικ».
