Originally a California native, I’ve created my new base between both Bali and Dubai, UAE after having had the gift of living in yoga and photographic rich Bali, Indonesia for 8 years. Photography as a passion and profession has evolved from a confluence of other deep-seated interests that keep me thriving… peoples' faces and expressions, yoga, the psychology of people, dancing, travel, vibrancy,

love of physical form and more. They all get me excited, and any combination is pure delight. A few basics tend to drive my photographic personality. First, before shooting, nearly everyone (unless a model), tells me they’re uncomfortable being in front of the camera. But once I share a glimpse of what I see from behind the lens, they realize how absolutely empowering and uplifting the portrait process can be. It’s an honor and privilege to share this intimate experience with so many and to watch them discover that they transmit that incredible spark of vibrancy and beauty. This is one of my greatest joys and humble satisfactions of being behind the camera. There’s even a greater enjoyment when having to really draw someone out and create something they never thought possible for themselves. If that’s all you ever know about me, it’s enough to say you know how I am constructed. Next, is creating stories within the images by shooting in day-to-day environments and using natural light. And last but not least, I’m less interested in whether someone knows their angles. I’d rather catch the unguarded moment when the personality flashes an honest gesture or a beautifully uninhibited smile. That’s the authenticity of someone's "story" coming alive in the shot. In addition to photography, I’m an intrepid traveler, mother of 2 little ones, devoted yoga practitioner and 500 ERYT teacher and yoga teacher trainer.

This photo shoot was a bitter-sweet one. I’ve been shooting with Sandra for years…first meeting on a company-wide fitness shoot before she reached out to have a creative maternity session on the beach for herself. She was well planned with very clear ideas, aesthetic examples, outfits - a true delight for photographers. And actually, she’s been like that for all our shoots. 🙏 Though years ago, our first shoot is still one of my all time favorites. We continued to have many more shoots over the years; several for personal branding, some with little Harper as a baby, further maternity (baby round 2!) - solo and with family…more branding and then to this most recent family shoot on the beach.

I feel like I get to witness and be part of entrepreneurial businesses and growing families. It’s not lost on me that it’s a privilege to be entrusted into someone’s world, and to have these memories marked forever. Whether it’s for business or family/personal images that will be carried on for lifetimes, an imprint/etching has been made in all our worlds.

So it’s bitter-sweet to have a final farewell (leaving Dubai) shoot with Sandra, Rob and kids, yet I hope it’s not the last!

I wish you all the best of luck and look forward to your future visits in Dubai!
