Located an hour’s drive from Mesaieed and the Sealine Beach, Khawr al Udayd (or the Inland Sea) is one of the few places in the world where sand dunes meet the sea. With its 6 mile long lagoon, this nature reserve is home to various flora, fauna, ospreys, dugongs and turtles.

When shooting with a telephoto (in my case an old but faithful Canon 300mm F/2.8) I need a couple of things in order to do my job:

A degree of patience, anticipation, concentration, a sturdy monopod and a really good knee pad.

In return I can often get sharp candid shots of my client’s clients. One thing I wasn’t expecting when shooting with a telephoto is gaining the ability to lip read! However, for those wondering, my memory is like my right knee….it’s shot!

They say ‘Size isn’t everything’, and ‘they’ do say a lot.

However, when it came to photographing industry professionals meeting at the Bürgenstock Hotel and Resort, a 300mm lens was just the ticket.

Whilst shooting for inVoyage in the Spring, I spent a lovely morning with the video crew (who were shooting B-Roll) in and around Lucerne, central Switzerland’s most populated city. This beautiful and historic city is located at the outfall of Lake Lucerne into the river Reuss. The city occupies both banks of the river and the lowest reaches of the lake.

Whilst shooting for inVOYAGE in the Spring, I spent a lovely morning with the video crew (who were shooting B-Roll) in and around Lucerne, central Switzerland’s most populated city. From the avenues of Sycamore trees lining the lake’s edge to the city’s most famous landmark - the 14th century Capel Bridge otherwise known as Kapellbrück, this beautiful and historic city didn’t disappoint.

The choice was simple…get back into the car for nearly two hours to Dorset, or delay it and take the camera for a morning walk in the Wiltshire countryside with my mates at English Acoustics. Thank you Baxter for holding still just for a split second.

Sherborne is a market town and civil parish in north west Dorset, situated in South West England. The town was originally named scir burne by the Saxon inhabitants, a name meaning "clear stream", after a brook that runs through the centre of the town, and is referred to as such in the Domesday Book.

  It was in this historical location that I had the pleasure of working for the solutions group , photographing an exciting new development and picking out features that this innovative company had worked so hard in producing.

A few weeks ago this award winning, innovative British company launched their latest product, the Stereo 41c. With its watch making grade attention to detail and photogenic looks, this latest offering from English Acoustics ensures that both beauty and power go hand in hand.   

From its sumptuous automotive-grade paint finish to the in-house designed output transformers that provide 25W/Channel from 8Hz-60KHz. The bigger brother to the Stereo 21c now has a forward facing power switch and balanced and unbalanced inputs on the rear. The dual mono and valve rectified design utilises EL506 output tubes to deliver a smooth yet punchy sound.

Part Two...

Did you know that The Great Lester Piggot had his first ever ride at Salisbury in 1948 ( he was only 12 years of age, and weighed just over 5 stone).

Last Autumn I got to spend a couple of glorious days with two very lovely people from the solutions group One of the locations we photographed was the Paddock Bar located at Salisbury Racecourse. This perfectly formed commercial building served to highlight the structural and architectural skill and atttention to detail that is required for such commercial projects.

Part One...

Did you know that one of the earliest race meetings at Salisbury Racecourse was attended by Queen Elizabeth I in 1588, whilst on route to meeting with Sir Francis Drake.
