Jo Jobling Studio Personal Branding Photographer | Helping women feel confident and seen | UK Hi, I'm Jo!

For over 15 years, I've been photographing people at some of life's most meaningful moments. Along the way, I've learnt that the most powerful images aren't created through perfect poses, they come from making people feel comfortable enough to simply be themselves. Today, I specialise in personal branding photography for women in business, creating natural, refined imagery that helps you show up with confidence and connect with the people you want to reach. My approach is calm, collaborative and completely tailored to you, so your photographs feel authentic, effortless and unmistakably yours.

Can I tell you something I see all the time?

You started your business a few years ago, found a photo you liked of yourself, maybe had a friend take a few more, and thought, “Great. That’ll do.”

And honestly? It probably did. At the time, those photos represented you and your business pretty well.

But fast forward a couple of years and your business has changed. You’ve changed. You’re more confident, you’re doing bigger things, you’re probably working with different people and charging more than you were when you first started.

And yet… you’re still using the same photo everywhere

The one on your website, the one on LinkedIn, the one on Instagram and the one you send when someone asks for a headshot.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that photo. It’s just that it might not be you anymore.

This is one of the reasons I love personal branding photography. It’s not really about getting a “nice headshot”. It’s about creating a collection of images that actually reflects where you are now — how you work, your personality, your expertise and all the little things that make your business yours.

Yes, we’ll get the beautiful portraits too, but I also want photographs of you actually doing what you do. Because those are often the images that tell your story best.

So if you’ve looked at your website or LinkedIn recently and thought, “Hmm… that doesn’t really feel like me anymore,” maybe it’s time for an update.

Not because there’s anything wrong with the old version of you. Just because you’ve moved on. 🤍

Those moments still matter to me. They always have. And they’re why weddings will always have a place in my work

How to Build a Personal Brand That Stands Out

In today’s world, personal branding isn’t just for influencers - it’s for anyone looking to grow their career or business. Your personal brand is the story people tell about you when you’re not in the room. It’s what makes you unique, relatable, and memorable. So, how do you build one?

💫 Identify your uniqueness. What makes you stand out? Are you a problem-solver, strategist, or leader? Define your strengths and how they benefit others.

💫 Know your audience. Who are you speaking to? Entrepreneurs? Corporate clients? Tailor your message to connect with them.

💫 Craft your brand message. Create a short, clear elevator pitch about who you are and what you do. For example, “I help small businesses simplify social media.”

💫 Be consistent. Align your tone and visuals across Linkedln, Instagram, and your website to create a cohesive presence.

💫 Show your expertise. Share valuable content through blogs, LinkedIn posts, or Instagram tips to build credibility and attract attention.

💫 Engage with others. Reply to comments, share content and network online and offline to build trust and approachability.

💫 Evolve over time. As you grow, revisit your brand to ensure it reflects who you are and where you’re headed - something I am doing right now.

Most importantly, be authentic. Your realness is what will set you apart and create lasting connections.

Ready to make your personal brand unforgettable? Start with these steps, and watch new opportunities unfold!

Planning a wedding can feel like a whirlwind, but one of the most crucial aspects to focus on early in the process is booking your vendors. You may be thinking, “Do I really need to book them now?” The answer is yes—especially if you want the best for your big day.

Imagine this: you’ve found your dream venue, the photographer whose work you’ve admired for years, and a florist who makes arrangements that look like they’ve been plucked straight from a fairytale. You reach out to them, excited to lock things in, only to find out they’re already booked for your date. That disappointment is real, and it happens more often than you think.

Top vendors—whether it’s photographers, florists, caterers, or even DJs—can be booked up a year or more in advance. This is especially true if you’re planning your wedding during peak season. By booking your vendors early, you not only secure the talent you want, but you also reduce your stress level. Imagine crossing off that long list of vendors, knowing you’ve got your dream team in place!

Another benefit of booking early is that it often gives you time to build a relationship with your vendors. You get to chat with them, share your vision, and ensure they understand exactly what you want for your big day. This rapport can be a game-changer when the wedding day arrives because you’ll feel confident that everything is in trusted hands.

In short, booking your wedding vendors early is like giving yourself a wedding day insurance policy. You’re guaranteeing that the people who will make your day run smoothly are ready, committed, and prepared to bring your dream to life. So, if you’re in the early stages of planning, now is the perfect time to start reaching out to those vendors you’ve been eyeing. Trust me, you won’t regret it!

Ready to start locking in those key players for your big day? Start making those calls—you’ll thank yourself later!
