It has always been my passion and after a couple of decades of working professionally but shooting for a hobby, I opened my first photography company in Kenya 2012, as PICHAcurious. Moving to Dubai and choosing to specialize in family and lifestyle photography led to Emma Staples Photography, which focuses on maternity, newborn, children and families. My style is very informal and relaxed. I love observing family moments, and often prefer the more candid ones that come after 'the shot'. I don't like to pose, stylize or interfere too much during the shoot - I like to see how families interact and capture those intimate looks, jokes and moments. I feel like i'm living the dream. I get to spend fun hours with families exploring these wonderful Emirates. It's like being part of your family for a few hours. I get to laugh alongside you, (as usually working with children is wonderfully unpredictable!), witness the most intimate moments, and I feel very lucky to be able to capture and preserve these special moments for you. I want to capture YOUR family life, and show it in the most natural way possible. As a location photographer I come to you - whether that's at your home, or one of your favourite places in the city, park, beach or desert. There’s something so special about welcoming a new baby into the family, especially when there’s a big brother ready to be part of it all ☀️

A lovely, fun session at home, capturing these early days together. Lots of cuddles, curious little moments, lolly breaks whilst baby had a feed (because big brothers need looking after too!), and the cutest moments with their furbabies being so gentle around the children 😍

These are the little things I love capturing. The moments in between, the everyday chaos, the love, and all the little details that you’ll want to remember as the years fly by 🥹

From maternity to meeting their baby girl for the very first time …

A Fresh 48 session in the hospital, capturing those first precious moments as this gorgeous family of three becomes a family of four ✨

M is now a BIG BROTHER, and he was already so curious about his little baby sister. Watching him discover her, taking everything in, and getting to know this tiny new person who is going to be such a big part of his world was just so cute 🥹

It feels like only yesterday we were together at Al Qudra Lakes for their maternity shoot! How quickly time flies, and how special it is to now be documenting this next chapter for them ☀️

I’ve had the privilege of capturing so many special chapters for this family over the years, from maternity and newborn to milestones and Christmas sessions. Being invited back to document these moments as their family grows is something I never take for granted ⭐️

A little bit of newborn sweetness, a whole lot of toddler fun, and so much love!

This gorgeous family came to my studio to capture life as a family of five, and we had plenty of laughs along the way! 🤩

Big brother had some very important questions about the plants on my high shelf… namely, how on earth did they fly up there?! 😂

And I absolutely LOVE it when the outtakes make the final gallery. The classic toddler nose-picking shot had to be included! 🤣

Because real family life isn’t always picture-perfect, and sometimes those are the moments you treasure most ✨

Meanwhile, big sister was already completely smitten with her baby sister, so gentle and calm around her. Just the sweetest little bond beginning to grow 🥹

A beautiful mix of cuddles, giggles, tiny details and all the little personalities that make this family them ⭐️

A little bit of desert magic with this gorgeous family before they left Dubai ☀️

I’ve been lucky enough to photograph them a few times now, from celebrating H’s birthday to a beach shoot, and it’s been so special watching her grow up along the way 🥹

From an anniversary shoot in the desert with balloons … to this 🥹

A few years ago, I met this lovely couple for an anniversary shoot in the desert, complete with balloons and lots of fun. And now, here we are … their family has grown, and I got to meet their beautiful baby girl in my studio 🥰

There’s something so special about photographing these little chapters in a family’s story - seeing couples become parents and capturing their family as it grows and changes ⭐️

This session was made even more special with the grandparents joining us too, and I absolutely loved capturing three generations of women together 🥹

So much joy, so many cuddles, and a beautiful new little person to love ☀️

A little more love to squeeze into the family …

What a gorgeous newborn session in my studio with this beautiful family - and a little one who had already mastered the art of giving us the most gorgeous smiles! 🥹

Doting big siblings, the cutest parents, lots of cuddles and kisses … and a very glamorous Grandma who had literally flown in that morning to meet her newest grand child ⭐️

There was so much love, laughter and connection throughout this session - and I loved capturing all those little moments that make this family them 🥰

SEPTEMBER WRAP UP
What a month - a mix of family, friends and work. Flying to Spain to celebrate my dad’s 80th birthday with family and lots of laughter- and w**e and alioli! 🍸
Bouncing around a field for Mucky Weekender festival in England with friends I’ve known since I was 12. That’s over 40 years of fun with my Dorset gang 🤩
And birthday celebrations for a dear friend in Dubai with dinner and dancing 💃🏻
As well as dancing I had 9 shoots with beautiful families - a lovely mix of maternity, newborn, family and milestone sessions. And set up my Winter Minis - Whispers of Winter and shot the promo images ready to release in October 🎄
As always, me and Pickles chased some sunsets in the desert. It’s been sweaty and looking forward to the winter weather coming in! 🐱
