The hardest part of photography for me, is sharing my work. Why? Because art is subjective. What I love and see and crave, may not speak to somebody else.

But what I have learnt along the way, is that there really is no other option. You have to keep creating the work your soul needs, and hope that through your work, those that need it will find you.

When I create images with my camera, my favourite work is always the kind of work that I would want for myself. I want the photos of simply “being”.

Connecting with those you love, simply being yourselves. Doing your thing.

For those wondering, the blur in the images is intentional. It’s actually quite difficult to create blur with how clever cameras are these days! I love just seeing what happens when you play with settings and move the camera in different ways.

I have spent the last twelve months soaking up Luna. Trying so desperately to slow down time so I could just stare at her and be with her without the pressure of needing to be somewhere else.

Having three children is no joke, and it is definitely not for the faint hearted. There is too much washing, too many sticky finger marks, mountains of homework, home readers, and toys everywhere. Yet, at the same time, I feel this beautiful sense of completeness and calm. It was always her. It was always going to be her. It’s like I cannot imagine a world without her in it, and our family has finally made it home to each other.

So, whilst I struggle to find the time to do anything right now (especially look after myself whilst trying to navigate this move to another country) it is also the time when I need to get back to work. So here I am. A hot mess. Getting back to work.

I don’t think the timing will ever feel right, in the sense that I don’t want to be choosing between family and working. But this angst has also made it even clearer just how much I love being able to capture mothers with their babes. Because these moments really do fly by.

Don’t blink. You will miss it.
