We’ve missed it! 🫣

We were late for sunset, because we started the shoot a bit later than we planned. I was a bit sad, but of course we still managed to get many good shots even in the night😍

In general my 1st photoshoot went well, but I was a bit nervous expecting that someone will stop us from shooting any moment🫣

In Dubai I did almost all my shoots with security standing next to me🤣

In Athens I was waiting when someone will come and say something, but to my great surprise no one cared at all. It felt very unusual to me, as I started my photography journey in UAE and got used to those restrictions.

Who am I?

I’m Ekaterina, women portrait and lifestyle family photographer.
I lived in the UAE for the past 10 years, and recently moved to Greece with my family.

I can’t say exactly how long I’ve been in photography. For several years it was just my hobby and I didn’t progress much as I had my main job. I was working as a flight attendant for 10 years ✈️

By the end of my flying career I became a mother, quit my job and started to spend more time for my hobby. Around 5 years ago I started taking small amounts of money for photoshoots.

Since then I was growing faster and was taking every opportunity to develop my skills and get new experiences.

I did a lot of photography courses, went for master classes and was also assisting one famous photographer on her shoot, which was like a private master class 😍

Worked as a freelancer and full time in a studio. Tried different types of photography. Some of my works were published in magazines.

I always thought that to be published in a magazine must be the biggest dream of every photographer, but now I understand that in photography you can never stop dreaming!

I still have a lot of fears, however I never thought about quitting! My fears and fails don’t stop me, they only make me stronger!

In Greece I start from zero and I’m curious where this adventure will take me☺️

Keep going and never stop dreaming!
(So far all my dreams came true 😉)

Who am I?

I’m Ekaterina, women portrait and lifestyle family photographer.

Maternity photoshoot in the studio🤰

It’s been a while since I did this photoshoot for my friend. She gave birth a month and is a happy mommy now ☺️

I invited Becky for a free maternity shoot with her husband. Showed her some examples in Pinterest and she got really excited. But unfortunately last moment her husband was called to work and there was no possibility to do the shoot any other time due to some circumstances.

I was excited to do a couple maternity shoot and wanted to try 2-3 different light schemes on this shoot as well.

I think we still got very nice results ☺️ I also decided to use some fabric we had in the studio to have different kind of photos as the husband didn’t make it (will soon post the results too) ☺️

At that time I was their employee, however I wanted to pay for the rent of the studio in order to do this shoot. They didn’t let me pay and also assisted during the shoot, which I really appreciate!

Though I understand I need to move on I still miss my job and my colleagues too much 😞🤗🤗🤗

Time to come back to my instagram and post some photos that have been waiting on the shelf😁

I actually like tough situations in a way, taking them as challenges makes me feel so good when I manage to overcome them. Though in the beginning it’s always a bit worrying 😵

Seems like 10 pm posts are coming back 😄

I wanted to shoot in this style long time ago, and even I was not thinking about doing it in a desert, it just happened by itself, and I actually love the outcome ❤️

I would like to be honest…

I realized that whatever I do, one feeling doesn’t leave me. And you might say it’s not a bad feeling and that’s something that makes you get better etc…

This feeling is constant self judgement. I’m never satisfied with what I do or achieve. I always think it’s not enough and I could do better. And it’s truth, I definitely will do better and achieve greater results, I understand that. We all will become better versions of ourselves day-by-day if we work on it.

The problem is that I know when I achieve the highest results I could, I would still be judging myself, or better, will consider I was just lucky😀
This won’t change, and it makes me feel sad and angry at the same time😡

We all get better and better in what we do, but aren’t we supposed to praise ourselves for being better than yesterday, or at least to acknowledge it? I think it’s so important and a lot of people don’t realize it, including myself😑

Just for a moment, compare yourself now with a person you were several years ago or even several months ago. There’s definitely something you succeed in, or improved in. Even if it’s something small (according to you). And it applies to everything–profession, relationship, all aspects of life! We get better in everything and just forget to acknowledge and praise ourselves!

I wonder if there are any people like me here, do you realize it and, if yes, how do you deal with it?
