Five siblings, one iconic Abu Dhabi backdrop, and a moment they wanted to hold onto before life shifted again. The eldest just moved abroad for university, and before he left, they told me they wanted one thing… a memory of all of them together at the mosque. Something that felt true to their Abu Dhabi chapter.

Two moments, only minutes apart… yet the feeling is completely different.

Golden Hour wraps everything in that soft, warm glow we all love. But Blue Hour has its own quiet magic too. The sky deepens, the air feels calmer, and there’s this dreamy softness that makes photos feel almost poetic.

I often plan shoots around Golden Hour, but photos like this remind me not to forget the beauty that happens just after.

Little boys and the desert are such a sweet combination. The way they explore every dune with so much curiosity is just too cute. And then the running around! It’s really what makes a photoshoot fun.

And yet strange enough, working on these photos made me realise my own two have never actually been to the desert. It’s about time to plan our first little adventure out there… it feels like the perfect place to make memories.

Saadiyat Beach always feels like a little dream. It’s one of the most beautiful places in Abu Dhabi to photograph families. ✨

The only downside is that access and photography permits can be a bit tricky. Abu Dhabi can be quite strict with locations, which means not every spot is as easy as it looks in the photos. But there are still gorgeous places if you know where to look.

Some families stay with you, even when years pass between sessions. Watching these three grow from little ones into their own beautiful personalities has been such a joy.

As a photographer, moments like this feel incredibly special. It’s such an honor when families return and trust me again to capture these memories.

Out in the desert with this father and his two boys, I captured so much more than just smiles for the camera.🩵
It was wrestling and lifting, tickling and giggles, but also the tender moments, like cuddles in the sand, whispers in the ear, even a sweet kiss between brothers.

For me, family photography isn’t just about “nice pictures.” It’s about freezing those little interactions that show the love, connection, and personality of your family. The kind of memories you’ll look back on years from now and feel exactly what it was like in that season of life.

That’s the magic. ✨
