The New Profoto B10 - The power of small Today, Profoto announced the launch of the new Profoto B10, and I was lucky enough to get my hands on a couple of the new 'pint' sized lights before the official launch. Working with my friends at Advanced Media Dubai on the dealer launch, they gave me a pair of B10's to play with. [ 1,132 more word ]

There is something about sumo wrestling that struck me from an early age. For some unexplainable reason, I always wanted to see them fight in Japan. In January 2015, I realized one of my life long dreams. This was a challenging trip to plan. I had never been to Japan before and knew absolutely nothing about sumo. Also, as a foreigner (Gaijin), getting access to sumo can be difficult. [ 996 more words ]

I recently did another shoot of the main showroom for Jotun Paints, Dubai. As well as many elements of the showroom, they also wanted a portrait of their paint machine. Taking portraits can involve several lights (especially for more creative lighting) that take a long time to set up. To get around this, I used 'light painting'. This technique involves using a single strobe (Profoto B1) to light multiple shots of the same scene. [ 398 more words ]

Spent a few hours at Yawenta Children's Centre on my recent trip to Shashamane. I took photographs so that they can use them on a new planned web.

The school is entirely funded by donations, mainly from outside of Ethiopia. Every day is a constant struggle to make ends meet.

Yawanta Children's School looks after children with HIV (around 50% of the children) or who are socially social deprived.

The school provides free nutritional, medical, educational and phycological support to 120 orphans and extremely vulnerable children of Shashamane, majority being HIV +

Support with a small donation if you can. I have seen teh amazing work that they do and am confident that all donations go directly to the benefit of the children.
