We have made several attempts to contact Mr Kaitano Mwale, who is said to be behind the Lundazi Music Awards, with a simple request to remove the name “Kwithu Kreatives” from the Google Form he made for voting. We are not participating in these 'awards'
We reached out through email, phone calls, and Messenger. Unfortunately, the response we received was unprofessional, and our efforts to resolve the matter were eventually blocked.
For clarity, we have chosen to withdraw because the 'awards' appear to be run by one individual without an independent body to safeguard transparency and integrity. Nominations, voting, and the final decision all seem to be controlled by the same person.
If Mr Mwale wishes to RECOGNIZE creatives in his personal capacity that can be well. However, awards involving people's votes are different. An awards platform requires clear standards and credible procedures.
Until such standards exist, the name Kwithu Kreatives should not be attached to this process.
