BRAMO IN POLICE CUSTODY FOR TRYING TO "REZA" HIS MOTHER
Abraham Zika, popularly known as "Bramo," a 29-year-old resident of Matero, is currently in police custody pending a bail ruling scheduled for 18 June.
He is facing charges arising from allegations that on 18 May, he threatened his mother while armed with a machete. The State has opposed his application for bail, arguing that his release could pose a risk to the complainant, who is his mother.
Zika is being represented by Makebi Zulu Advocates, who argue that he satisfies the legal requirements for bail and should be released pending trial.
It is also reported that in 2019, he was arrested in connection with a series of aggravated robberies in Matero Township and was later sentenced to imprisonment at Mukobeko Maximum Correctional Facility before returning to society.
The term โReza,โ which is commonly used among Zambian youths and social media users to mean threatening or attacking someone, is said to have been popularized by Bramo.
