KANYAMA OFF-SEASON FOOTBALL SHOWCASE DRAWS THOUSANDS
What started as an off-season social football match is quickly becoming a cherished tradition in Kanyama, bringing together football lovers, local talent, and some of Zambia's biggest stars.
The well-organized event, spearheaded by Flavio Adhim El Simba, featured a thrilling clash between Zambia A and Zambia B. Zambia A was packed with experienced veterans, including Kings Kangwa, Kabaso Chongo, and other accomplished players. The team showcased exceptional talent, experience, leadership, and football intelligence.
On the other side, Zambia B represented the future of Zambian football, with exciting young talents such as Victor Kombe, Joseph Sabobo Banda, Dominic Kanda, and several other promising players. Their speed, skill, determination, and youthful energy made for an unforgettable contest.
Sable Ground was filled to capacity, with more than 8,000 passionate fans in attendance. The crowd was treated to a spectacular match that ended 2-2 in regulation time. Dominic Kanda opened the scoring with a stunning long-range effort, while Victor Kombe produced a brilliant free-kick to add another goal for Zambia B.
With neither side able to find a winner during normal time, the match was decided by penalties, where Zambia B emerged victorious.
Beyond the result, the event was a celebration of football and community. It gave local supporters a rare opportunity to watch both international and local stars up close, while young players had the chance to share the field with experienced professionals. After the final whistle, fans happily took selfies and interacted with their favorite players, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
