A Kasama Municipal Council officer has been suspended by the Local Government Service Commission over shoddy works on some Constituency Development Fund projects.

Commission Acting Chairperson, BRIAN NDUMBA disclosed this during a media briefing held yesterday, but did not disclose the names of the officer.

Mr NDUMBA says the decision to suspend the officer follows concerns from stakeholders over the poor state of CDF implementation in Kasama.

He has since warned that the Commission will not allow a few selfish individuals to tarnish the government’s name, adding that the fund is meant to improve people’s lives.

He has further warned that council officers found conniving with contractors will face disciplinary action, while contractors delivering poor quality works risk being blacklisted from future government projects.

Meanwhile, MR. NDUMBA has assured Kasama residents that a team of assessors will soon visit the province to check on the quality of CDF projects.
