I’ve been between venues at the Toyota Stellenbosch Woordfees, camera in hand, capturing more unforgettable theatre moments.

Here are some of my images featured in the Woordfees review of Seun — a deeply compassionate masterpiece that reminds us every man, somewhere deep inside, is still a boy trying to understand who he has become.

Starring Wilhelm van der Walt, directed by Nico Scheepers, adapted by Johann Smith from the book by Dana Snyman, and produced by Leftfoot Theatre Productions and Innibos.

I’ve been moving between venues at the Toyota Stellenbosch Woordfees, camera in hand, trying to catch the heartbeat of each story.

One of those moments was Bridling. Directed by Jay Pather and inspired by Nadia Davids’s short story, it’s beautifully performed by Buhle Ngaba and directed on stage by Shaun Oelf.

It’s a story about control, gender, and power — told with honesty, restraint, and so much courage.

Today, we celebrate the power of photography to move, inspire, and connect us. This year it’s particularly special for me—my image won First Place in the Movement in Art category at the International Theatre Photography Competition THEATRE EXPOSED It was also honoured with a Special Prize from the Competition Experts.

It was an inspiring experience that brought together theatre and photography in such a powerful way. I am grateful to be part of this international creative community and to have my work recognized among artists from across the globe.

My heartfelt thanks to Assitej South Africa for opening doors to such opportunities. Here’s to many more captured moments and shared visions!

But when a rare and special toy breaks on Christmas Eve, The Tinker and two mischievous elves, Crystal and Twinkle, must journey back in time to Santa’s youth to solve a magical mystery. Can they fix the toy before time runs out?

Expect a delightful blend of puppetry, physical performance, and song in this heart-warming festive adventure. It’s a magical reminder that when we work together, even the impossible becomes possible!

🎶 Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra’s Festive Lunch-Hour Concert! 🎼🎤🎻

Yesterday, the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, in collaboration with Cape Town Opera and VOX Cape Town, treated audiences to a free lunch-hour concert filled with beautiful classical music, festive cheer, and all our favourite Christmas carols!

Under the expert baton of Brandon Phillips, the musicians and vocalists created a magical atmosphere that perfectly captured the spirit of the season. Thank you to everyone who joined us and to the incredible performers for sharing their talent and spreading joy through music!

We’re here at Mamre Primary School, preparing for the Annual Artscape Rural Outreach concerts, and we invite the communities of Mamre and Atlantis to join us! Artscape has brought a full production – complete with a stage, professional sound, lighting, costumes, and performances from all our associated companies – right here to uplift the community and celebrate local talent on a world-class platform.

This year’s line-up is exceptional, featuring Cape Town City Ballet, Jazzart Dance, jazz vocalist Ncedeka (N-The Queen), hip-hop artist Jitsvinger, opera stars Janel Speelman and Sipho Qabithole, and musical director Stefan Lombard. We’re especially excited to showcase Mamre’s own talent, with performances from the Smile Production Band and Nikita Scott!

🗓️ 𝟯𝟭 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 - Free concerts for local schools, giving young learners the chance to experience the magic of theatre in their own community.

🗓️ 𝟭 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿, 20:00 - Public concert in support of Lief en Leed, a local non-profit for people with disabilities in Mamre. All ticket sales will support their vision for a Centre for Excellence.

Artscape CEO Marlene Le Roux shares, “As we celebrate 30 years of democracy, it’s heartwarming to see theatre as a tool for social cohesion and inclusivity. Watching faces light up and hearing the applause as audiences experience the arts is a personal highlight of mine each year.”

Die cherry on top is om my favourite MC’s te sien Boeta Rajee en Haji Fatgieyah (anner mense sal vat, maa sy sal gie, ja!) en om te hoo oo Moegsien se stink voete en Ragmat se dogter, met ‘n post-graduate certificate, en haa niewe boyfriend wat net ‘n birth certificate het!

Die show het ‘n brilliant cast met ‘n dans span en musical band, met keyboardist Tersia Harley, wat rerag vi niks skrik – kanala moettie nou daai Boeta’s en Tietie’s wies wat te laat wakker skrik wanner’ie show klaa is. Ek het my front row seat leqqa warm vi julle ge’hou.
