4 Tips I’ve learnt from capturing proposals this year.

1. Know your partner.
Not everyone wants to experience this intimate moment in front of a big crowd of people. Let their interests drive your decision on how you’d want to pop the question.

2. Don’t act out of character.
Most people (I stand to be corrected) want this moment to be a surprise - I mean as surprised as you can be if you’ve had the marriage conversation. Call it a 6th sense but women pick up on it when you act strange and a little secretive. Try your best to just be you. [Turn off the notifications you receive from all vendors😉]

3. Be present.
Don’t worry if the words you’ve practiced slip your mind the moment you bend your knee. Most of what you say gets lost in the shock of the moment so don’t overthink it.

4. Have a little Plan B.
I’m sure hours of planning goes into a creating the perfect moment but not everything goes as planned. Spare a thought on “what could go wrong” with your idea and then think of simple solutions so that if for whatever reason it does, you’re not completely panicked on the day.

At the end of the day, this moment is one you’ll share with your partner forever - and although you can’t foresee everything, you can just make the most out of how things pan out and focus on the fact that you’re about to start one beautiful journey with your best friend.
