Forever a husband’s girl.

He’s the first text I send when something goes right, the only person I want to talk to when everything goes wrong, and the co-captain of all my worst impulses.

If I’m crying, he makes me laugh.
If I’m venting, he’s ready to ride at dawn.
If I’m happy, it’s usually because we’re doing absolutely nothing together on the couch.

There is nothing quite like the sight of horses moving across the open veldt.

Watching them in awe. Their strength and majestic presence take your breath away. They belong to this landscape, perfectly in tune with the rhythm of the earth.

Looking out over our valley at the homestead today...

Mother Nature has truly blessed us with an absolute sea of colour. Everywhere you turn, there are so many flowers blooming and showing off their beauty. It is hard not to feel completely grateful for this peaceful little corner of the world. Taking a quiet moment to just breathe it all in.

There is nothing quite like looking out over our valley at the homestead today. Mother Nature has truly blessed us with an absolute sea of colour. Everywhere you turn, there are so many flowers blooming and showing off their beauty. It is hard not to feel completely grateful for this peaceful little corner of the world. Taking a quiet moment to just breathe it all in.

Slowly but surely... our temporary living room is officially done! 🏡✨ Swipe through to see how cozy it turned out (and a few of my favorite little details!) 🔨

We are getting our temporary dwelling on the homestead ready, one project at a time. Our big build on our Farm will begin in December, God willing, but making this temporary space feel like home right now means the world to us.

Funnily enough, I actually got a message today from someone I haven't seen in years, saying how sorry they are that things are going "so bad" with us...

I just had to smile. It made me realize that what might look like a struggle to the outside world is actually our absolute dream coming true. If having a cozy roof over our heads, beautiful spaces to gather, and a simple life on our own land is "bad," then I don't ever want to be good!

We are so incredibly blessed and highly favored. We could not have asked for anything more, and we are counting our blessings and taking every single day as it comes. ❤️🙏🏼

Neighbor Spotlight: Damien

Meet our amazing little neighbor, Damien!

He is 11 years old and absolutely one of a kind. This guy is full of the biggest stories, an imagination that is completely out of this world, and he always has a helpful hand ready—and a brilliant opinion on just about everything! I truly treasure our little chats.

You have to listen to his latest story about his trip to the dentist, it is honestly too funny for words.

Unfortunately for my non-Afrikaans friends, the story is in Afrikaans, and trying to translate it would just lose all the magic and comedic timing that makes Damien so special. But for those who understand, grab some popcorn and get ready to laugh!

Look at what we just found!
I am absolutely over the moon about these vintage glass bottles. Seriously, they look like pure art. The history, the character, the way they catch the light—I’m obsessed!
We are definitely bringing these beauties into our new house on the homestead. They are going to fit in perfectly.
