Moody Misty Mornings in Bronkies.
Water droplets glistening on the tall grass, motionless as the soft breeze of early morning mist floats effortlessly through the rocky outcrops surrounding our hike in to the crag from the car park.
It was cold, enough that a warm cuppa ended up being the unanimous topic during the 5 min hike in to the valley below.
We met up with the rest of our crew who had already set up base camp, i.e. coffee station at a beautiful spot overlooking the mottled cliffs and started planning our first climb for the day.
I hopped on a soft 15, easing into it with shivering hands and aching cold toes, finding my flow again after being away from these mountains for far too long, stopping every few meters to admire the awe inspiring view.
Moments after clipping the final 2 draws, the sun burst through the clouds with a warm gentle touch to my skin, gradually consuming the mist while I slowly descend to the frosty floor below.
For the rest of the day, I decided to climb barefoot, which seems like a pretty questionable idea in these conditions. But to me, this is more about just climbing, itβs my way of connecting with the mountain, feeling her breathe beneath my skin, experiencing every texture, every scent and every sound - There is nothing quite like it, that brings me back to present, clears my mind, reaffirms my love and connection to nature, the connection to my true self π±
In which ways do you reaffirm this connection to yourself and nature? What is your barefoot approach to building a deeper connection to yourself?
Let me know in the comments below.
