Sardine Run 2026 | Ramsgate | 16 June

The Sardine Run delivered its biggest net of the season so far at Ramsgate today, drawing large crowds to the beach as excitement spread along the shoreline.

As the net was hauled in, spectators gathered around hoping to get their share of the fresh sardines. The atmosphere was electric, with locals and visitors eagerly watching the action unfold as netters worked to bring the catch safely onto the beach.

With increasing activity being reported along the KZN South Coast, today's catch was another encouraging sign that the 2026 Sardine Run is beginning to gain momentum.

After exploring Havenside, we now move on to Unit 2, better known as Bayview, a community rich in history, culture, family, and memories.

These aerial images offer a glimpse of Bayview from above, showcasing the streets, homes, landmarks, and neighbourhoods that have been part of so many people's stories over the years.

For many residents, Bayview is more than just a place. It's where they grew up, went to school, built lifelong friendships, celebrated milestones, and created memories that still live on today.

Sardine Run action at Port Edward!

A few dolphins were spotted chasing sardines close to shore while birds circled overhead waiting for an opportunity to feed. Nothing massive yet, but it’s always exciting to witness these early signs of the annual Sardine Run along the KZN South Coast.

Nature never disappoints. 🌊

Finally got a taste of Sardine Run 2026 after yesterday's first netting.

A small group of dolphins could be seen chasing sardines close to shore while seabirds circled overhead and diving activity hinted at fish moving through the area. Local netters also made an attempt as everyone kept a close eye on the water.

While this wasn't one of the massive shoals that the Sardine Run is famous for, it was another encouraging sign that the season is underway along the South Coast.
