One of my favourite places in the Eastern Cape is this fig tree at Indigo Crest. It's where I got married (back before it was Indigo Crest) and it's where I'd spend every afternoon if I could.

(Well, there, on in some of the other accommodation that they have on offer!)

Did you know that our studio underwent a little revamp not too long ago? Gone are the plain white walls all around and the carpet! Instead, we've added a bit of a mood along one wall (and a bit of an office space opposite it!) We've also redone the floors and we're loving the look!

When you not only get to photograph a gorgeous baby boy, but he just happens to be your nephew! I got to meet little Aidan for the first time in January while he was visiting from Australia, and spent a few hours with him and my sister in the garden capturing some fleeting memories.

It feels like 2026 has barely started, but it's been a busy one so far!

One of our biggest projects last year was working with the SPCA to photograph some of the gorgeous pets (and kitties in particular) up for adoption. And we're proud to say that this has carried on into 2026! Here are just a few photographs from our recent trip into the cattery 😍😽

Reminder: It's not just the kittens who need to be showered with love. There are some teenagers and older kitties who are so beautiful and sweet, desperate for a bit of affection.

Where has Evanescent Photography been?

It's been a good few years since I posted, but that doesn't mean I haven't been capturing those fleeting moments! Since my last post was some of my favourite shots from 2021, I thought I'd quickly share some of my favourites from the years that followed.

What can you expect in 2026? Hopefully more updates. February may feel a bit late for resolutions, but that's this page's aim for the year!

2021 was an insane year. At the start of the year I was unemployed and freelancing to get by, my photography becoming my main source of income. And then things shifted. I took on one job, left, took on another that has been amazing, and throughout I've still kept at my photography thanks to incredible (and very understanding) clients.

I did:

7 studio shoots
5 maternity shoots
4 weddings
2 newborns

And took on some challenges that I'd never imagined I would face with food photography, bird photography and sport photography! I also had a first time experience of having to cancel shoots at the last minute as I came down with Covid 😭 Thank you so much Charlene Photography_ for stepping in when I needed help most and taking over the shoots that I wasn't able to do. Here's hoping that never has to happen again (the cancelling, not the helping out!)

Thank you so much to everyone who has been on this journey with me, and helped me through it. Here's to an incredible 2022!
