A great birthday gift I received in recent years was a visit to the Giants Castle Vulture Hide in the Drakensberg. We didn't see too many Lammergeier Vultures, but we did get a nice viewing of an opportunistic Jackal Buzzard.

Cattle silhouetted in the morning light in northern Kaokoland, Namibia. The cattle belong to the Himba tribe who inhabit this remote part of the country. Namibia was blessed with excellent rainfall earlier this year, and this resulted in widespread grasslands in the desert.
