I became a birth photographer because of my own story.

I know what it is to face life-changing moments without warning. I know how quickly time moves, and how much we wish we could slow it down — or at least hold onto proof that it happened.

That's what I give people. Not just beautiful images. Evidence of their lives, at the moments that mattered most.

I started in birth rooms, and I've never really left — though my work has grown to include families, newborns, maternity sessions, and medical practices.

What I've learned in those eight years: people need to feel safe before they'll let you see them. Everything I do starts there.

Welcome, I'm Kristen.

For more than a decade, I've been documenting meaningful stories through photography and film — from births and growing families to healthcare professionals and purpose-driven businesses.

At the heart of my work is a simple belief: the moments, people and stories that shape our lives deserve to be remembered and shared with care.

Alongside my client work, I'm proud to serve as Head of the South African Birth Photographers Association (SABPA), supporting professional standards and education within the birth photography industry.

If you're wondering why this page feels relatively new, my previous business page was unfortunately lost, so this space has become the new home for my work, stories and community.

This page may be newer, but the work behind it has been many years in the making.

What I'm looking for is simpler than that — the weight of them in your arms. The way you already know how to hold them, even though you just met.

Nobody looks at a family photo and thinks: I wish they had stood still more.

The best ones are always the chaos. The sprint toward the camera, the accidental pile-on, the moment someone said something that made everyone lose it.

I don't direct those. I just stay close enough to catch them.
