Mense dis koud!! We've had the most horrible wind blowing the whole day, it's been cold and miserable. The work is still behind schedule and today I struggled to see the positive side of things. 🤐

Some warm stew and wine has gone a long way to lift morale. Super grateful for my Duo Pot that cooked everything in a jiffy! We've upgraded our seating arrangements to include the plastic outside table. Complete with tablecloth and set for supper! 🍽️

Hubby was super excited today to get his combustion fireplace installed and working and of course the pups aren't complaining. 🤭I got a new (secondhand) backdoor and they've started building my cement counters for the new kitchen. See pictures for my kitchen inspiration! Won't be 100% the same but one can dream! The kids finally managed to set up their bed in the loft. Said bed was transported on the Jimny roofrack all the way from Velddrif yesterday. 😂 My shattered nerves!!

Hubby is leaving again tomorrow on a 22day trip. I'm really hoping that all the renovations will be DONE by the time he returns. 😂 It's been a hectic couple of days.

At the moment I'm sitting in front of the new fireplace with hubby waiting for my turn to take a bath. 🛁 Seeing as both bathrooms aren't fully done yet We're taking turns to take a hot bath. I take the last turn so I can relax in the warm water before bed. 😛

I hope you're having a super week so far. We're already barreling towards the weekend at the speed of light!

Day 10287 of Renovations......or that's what it feels like.. 😂 I'm starting to think nothing will ever be clean again, not my laundry, my bedding or even myself...😐😂 One takes a bath...feels clean and then half an hour later with all the dust everywhere you feel like you can just take another bath.

Anyhow. The good news is that hubby's home! I did a Cape Town roundtrip picking up a door for the kitchen, a trip to the hardware which is currently a daily occurrence, a quick food Shop and collecting some laundry. In between all of this I met hubby's Uber from Houtbay. The man docked today and I'm happy to say he's home for a couple of days until Thursday.

It's been quite the week already and it's only Monday. 😂

I hope your week started better than mine. 🤭 We're out of the room early morning and can only use our bedroom again once the builders have left. The bathroom is half tiled, I've realised hexagon tiles are really not that easy to fit.

I'm smelling the braai meat 🥓 🍖 so probably time to sign off. Enjoy the rest of the evening and take care! I'll see you guys tomorrow!

Hello everyone! I hope you are doing well!

The good news is that I finally got to have a small celebration for my birthday with some friends today! Nothing fancy....a real seventies affair 😂, some chips and dip and soup with bread ala Checkers.

I asked a friend if we could have it at her beautiful apartment with an even prettier garden and a few of us gathered there today and just enjoyed each other's company and shared a meal together!

Thank you Liza Meyer for the photos and of course my 👑 😂, if not for you there would be no proof that today actually happened... 😂 And the crown detail was a super idea. Thank you. 😊

Back at home the work is going slowly, my bathroom floor has been tiled which means no bath tonight. It's been a week. The guys are back at it tomorrow so here's hoping. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

I'm so super tired I could actually just go to sleep but I know I'll lie awake way too early so I'm trying to read my book for a bit before lights out.

Hello everyone!!

So at last everyone's been moved into the house. 🤭 We have a makeshift lounge as we have to wait until the floors are dried and sealed before we can move the furniture in. We were able tonight to cook supper in the scullery rather than the garage and we're finally allowed to walk on the lounge floor... 😂 It's slow going but it's progress I suppose.

Our ensuite bathroom is getting tiled tomorrow Yay!! The builders will only start on the kitchen next week so I'm super excited to share that part.

On a very positive note...I found some keys we thought we had lost... 😂 I'm so grateful.

Tonight it's bath and bed. The builders are working right through the weekend so no rest for the wicked.
