African food deserves more than a single story… but here’s one to begin with 💛
Before ever picking up my camera at .africa , I sat down with for a “quick chat”. Two hours later, I was still sitting here, fascinated by it all.
What started as questions about Edge story, turned into an immersion into African cuisine — its roots, its richness, and how wildly underrated it is. She took me on a journey back to her homeland: cooking over fire, ingredient-led dishes, flavours, but also the incredible social connection around food.
And if you think you know spices… she and will very politely prove you wrong 😅(Also, did you know you can do salt-tasting, because the type of salt you use completely changes the flavour of your food 😮)
So when it came time to shoot Edge, it was never just about the dishes. Yes — bold flavours, layered plates, serious cultural pride 😋 But what stayed with me most was the people. The way the team works together. The energy in the space. Culture shows up - on the plate and in the kitchen.
They’ve closed their doors for now - only to reopen soon in a new location. So please, do yourself a favour - when they do, take yourself and your best ones on a dinner date 🍛
I can’t wait to see the new space, reconnect with the team, and eat my way through the menu like it’s my job (which… kind of is).
