Bits & pieces from life recently…🧡

Busy, blessed, and dreaming about archery deer season! 🦌🏹 BtF always manages to take a backseat while I chase everything else- thankful for the continued messages from friends I’ve made here in spite of my inactivity.

» We’ve started clearing trails at our tree stands for archery season! We found the cross near my stand where I killed Tips and chased 7/11🥹🙏🏻 a treasured find and reminder for the deer woods

» Two more stories have been sent to for publication going into this summer - fall. “Salt” and “By the Blood” will be on shelves soon and I can’t wait to hear your thoughts!

» My work with continues to fill my cup and my desk space, and I’ve so enjoyed learning and growing in this position over the course of the last (almost!) two years.

» Amidst it all, I’ve decided to dive into a new ‘business’ endeavor under Beyond the Field’s umbrella: .studioco 💜🦓🌞 I’ve been a passionate creative my whole life, and writing has taken me places I’ve never imagined in the ‘work’ field…and with that I’m going to be launching Safari Studio later this year as creative services/opportunities to work together under Beyond the Field. This is a work in progress and I’m excited to see where it goes!

» Tiny treasures never cease to find their way into my pockets, feathers, nests, rocks, etc. Haven’t had much luck in the trout or shed departments only for my lack of expeditions- time has been put into other areas. Grateful the river and its inhabitants are going to flow whether I’m there to take advantage of the current or not, and I know they’ll welcome me back with open arms when I do make it back. (The ticks haven’t done me any favors, either LOL)

» I’ve been painfully nostalgic as of late, and find myself at a loss for words when I consider my life, this brand, and the opportunities that have graced my pen and paper in the last 5 years.🪶

More to come. Thanks for being here, I’ll see you in the woods🏹🦌

2025🧡

Two more stories on the Sporting Classics shelves. Another feature in Pope & Young. Contributing columnist to the P&Y women’s column. A sable in my favorite place. An empty archery tag…2025 you were good to me! 🥹🙏🏼

I look back and wish I would’ve fished more. That I would’ve taken my shotgun out of the case at least once. That I would’ve ranged the buck that got away a little quicker, taken more time on the sable in Africa. Wrote more stories, taken more photos.

But I’m reminded of the beauty of being right where I am- with a brand that’s built friendships, a pen that has given my finger a callous, and a dog that is just happy to be at my feet even when my boots haven’t touched bird trails all year. And I’m grateful. I’m blessed. I’m humbled. 🤎🪶

Time in the woods is time well spent. Observing is sometimes required over acting. Tears shed in grief can also share space with joy. These are notes I’ve taken in my notebook, with my pen that has since run out of ink while I hunted in Limpopo, South Africa. A replacement cartridge is on the way, and the woods still wait for me.

I don’t have much else to say that really captures my gratitude fo this year, and for all of you that have taken the time to message me, read my long posts, and support my stories…no matter where they end up in print.

𝘚𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘬 𝘺𝘰𝘶. 🧡

Excited to see what the future holds for all of us!
God is GOOD!!

ᴛʜᴇ ᴘᴇʀꜰᴇᴄᴛ ꜱᴛᴏʀᴍ 🌘

10+ miles in the course of a single day. Too many blown stalks to count. Tracking, trailing, and trickery through Limpopo bush, every day, for a week…leading to this.

A bull of a lifetime.🖤

It’s no mistake he fell under the light of the ‘sable moon’- the waning crescent. It’s no coincidence that our final dance was had under storm-lit skies, flashing between black and white. It’s no surprise that the most beautiful storm I ever seen was imminent on the horizon while we made our final track, and ultimately, the final shot.

Many miles, many hands, and many prayers made this possible. What he taped will never measure the gratitude I feel for the Prince of Africa, for the special individuals that helped me get here.

Thank you, Lord, for this animal. His regality is not lost unto me…nor is the majesty of that night. Thank you to every person there that night that watched this story come full circle in real time. Thank you🖤

Feeling incredibly fortunate to be selected as one of the contributing writers for the Ethic magazine column: The Adventurous BowWomen alongside .cw ! 💙📝🏹

This magazine is sent to P&Y members quarterly and I will be featuring in the spring and fall editions!

Thank you, Lord, for the ability to continue honoring you through my love for writing and bowhunting, and the opportunity to share my heart’s contents with likeminded people and organizations from so many walks (and publications!) of life! 🥹🙏🏼

Thankful, grateful, blessed.

Real Talk: I’d rather have a job in the outdoor industry because views like this never get old and being in the center of God’s creation never disappoints.

The seasons are always changing and new opportunities could be on the horizon, that’s why when God changes our seasons we have to trust the soil He plants us in. Just walk where purpose leads.

Another one hits the shelves ✍🏼

So incredibly thankful for the opportunity to continue writing for Sporting Classics, and see my stories inspire the cover art this year! 🤩🥹💚

The May/June publication with “Spirals” is so special to me, for this is where my love affair for Africa took form. The chase for the infamous kudu- the Grey Ghost- seeded a love that has never wavered, and only grown with time. 🙏🏼✨🌍

I love to write! I love to hunt! I love wild places and wild things and wild rivers!! I pray to continue honoring God and the wild out of doors in my writing for many years to come- and I hope the words take seed in your soul, too, so that you’re inspired to chase your own ghosts in far away places. 🙏🏼

✨ Indeed, I am blessed🙏🏼🥹💖

Second article with S.C., complete with full page spread of my photos from my hunt with and cover art feature + spinal mention. Absolutely surreal!!

Fitting I wear this hat today- because it is ALL for God’s glory!🙌🏻💖 He puts me in amazing places, instills a love in me for wild animals, and places amazing people in my life that fuel my passion to write and tell readers of His creation.

This never gets old…and there’s yet another on the way. 🥳
