Man gets BUSTED by FWC cast netting snook. Finally they are arresting these poachers! Upset with the lack urgency from FWC to release that MASSIVE breeder fish. It had a shot to live.

I have never seen a Jack Crevalle this big in Brevard County. She measured 45” and put the Stella 4K to the ultimate test today. Launched at noon just messing around in my backyard and found a school, cruising in the middle of the lagoon and was able to get one to eat after chasing it for 20 minutes. Shortly there after, I sight casted a 34.5” and a 27” Redfish on arti! YouTube video coming soon.

What a day on the water! The day before I struck out, but at least I was finding fish. The next day I dialed things in and the very first fish I caught was my PB Drum! After that… chaos. Boats everywhere chasing schools, fish hitting the deck left and right. I probably saw over 50 fish get caught in just 2 -2.5 hours. I ended up with 9 fish total, and the only reason I stopped was I ran out of bait.

One of the coolest parts? Seeing a bunch of kids catch their biggest black drum ever — nothing beats that.

Went deep into the Sebastian River four days after the freeze and didn’t see a single dead fish. I even saw tarpon rolling. Eight days later told a different story, but it wasn’t nearly as bad as I expected. I probably saw around 15 dead snook and a couple of trout down in South Brevard County. This was one of the bigger snook, measuring 36 inches. It was a phenomenal day though with the sheepshead!

Thankfully, FWC said no snook or tarpon were found dead in area by my house. They did unfortunately find a dead manatee though.

Winter time is my favorite time of year to target snook!! This year has produced a few decent fish so far.

This year has been dismal, dodging cold fronts it seems like and finding fish extremely under pressure and spooky. A colder front brought temperatures down to the mid-30s two days ago, and tomorrow is forecasted to be in the 40s as well. Today’s high of 60 degrees made me to seize the opportunity. Within the first 15 minutes of fishing, I got an inshore slam, followed by a big surprise- a decent school of black drum just going back and forth down a mangrove line. I was able to pluck six using the 2.5” Zman prawn starz.
