Woof! We were planning on only going to a Guitar Lake, but got there really early and Solar 🌞 convinced me that going another 2 miles would be 2 miles that we wouldn’t have to do in the morning. It was a slog for sure, more elevation than I had mentally been planning for but we made it. Solar found us some awesome tent sites not far from the Whitney junction right on the side of the mountain …. Epic!

This was a shorter day today, as planned, to set up a 12 mile day tomorrow to put us in position for a sunrise Mt. Whitney summit. We crossed 13,000 feet for the first time on trail going through Forester Pass. We hung out there for about 40 minutes to give our bodies a chance to see what that elevation feels like, grab a bite to eat, and then headed down to find a good camp spot for the night.

Day 17 of our hike on the John Muir Trail is now available! We had to climb almost 3,000 feet to get back up over Kearsarge Pass, and there was crazy hail fighting us all the way to the top. Check it out here:

This is a short video I created to celebrate the Incredible day (September 29) on Katahdin hiking with my good friends “Mighty Blue” and “T.Time”. So proud of them both for overcoming great adversity during each of their respective thru-hikes. Also, a shout out to my new friend Hugh, who traveled a long way the day before to take part in the type 2 fun with us! Click on the link in comments to check it out 👍🏻
