Missed the Peat on Earth exhibition?

We heard from quite a few of you who said you made it to KL or Manchester — just not at the right time! Others wished it had been on for longer than two days — or "a pity there weren't more people (to see and hear it)," one visitor wrote.

Well, good news! A while back, the British Council Malaysia asked if we could bring the exhibition online. Now that November is here, and our project has officially wrapped up, we’re excited to share that the Peat on Earth Exhibition is now available online — until further notice! 🌍✨

Peat on Earth — The Final Showing in Malaysia!

After inspiring audiences in Kuala Lumpur, Cumbria, Manchester and London, Peat on Earth — a spoken word poetry and film exhibition about our special peatlands — is back home for its final run!

From the lush Kuala Langat North Forest Reserve in Selangor to the misty bogs of Foulshaw Moss Nature Reserve, UK, this exhibition celebrates the voices, stories, and landscapes that connect us.

🕙 10 AM – 4 PM
📍 FASS Gallery, Sunway University, Selangor

Supported by the British Council's grant, this exhibition & film screening is hosted by the Sunway University Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences. Peat on Earth invites you to listen, watch, and see our planet’s peatlands in a whole new light. Test how well you know your peat at the Laman Rasmi Jabatan Perhutanan Negeri Selangor booth, and find out how Selangor Forestry is conserving the peat lands.

Don’t miss this final chance to experience the beauty, poetry, and urgency of these living landscapes.

We are almost there....getting ready for the Malaysia premiere of the UK-MY films in Kuala Lumpur.

Peat on Earth is a poetic and visual collaboration between poets Matt Sowerby and Kimchi Lai, and filmmakers Studio 91 Media and Factual TV, across the UK and Malaysia. The project uses spoken word films to explore the beauty, biodiversity, and cultural importance of peatland habitats in both countries.

Supported by the British Council’s Connections Through Culture grant, the project seeks to challenge perceptions and reframe how these landscapes are understood.
