This contemporary two-bedroom apartment is a great example of how considered interiors and strong natural light can completely transform a space but only if it’s captured with the same level of care.

Clifford House the first in a series from a contemporary new build photographed for Mitchell Evans.

This opening set focuses on the entrance hall, bespoke staircase and upper landing a carefully considered transition through the house where light, volume and movement are key.

The staircase acts as a sculptural element within the space, while the open landing allows daylight to travel deep into the plan and frames views through the building towards the surrounding landscape.

Further posts will explore other areas of the project in more detail.

A hallway that reveals itself in layers.

What begins as a traditional entrance opens into a double-height landing, where a full-height library and built-in reading nook introduce a quiet moment within the vertical space.

The staircase was deliberately reoriented to open up the landing, while the window seat forms part of the wider extension and refurbishment designed by Mitchell Evans.

Some homes deserve more than one perspective.

After sharing the portrait series, it only felt right to give the landscape compositions their own space to breathe.

Set gently on a rise above its pond, this is a home shaped as much by its setting as its structure.

The reflection, the slope of the lawn, the stillness of the water details that transform a property into a place.

On days like this, the landscape does just as much of the talking as the architecture itself.
