Gentle Giant, Silly Soul
Selbyville, DE

At the Airbnb we stayed at in Selbyville, there was a Highland cow named Herbie in the pasture behind our cabin. We were encouraged to bring apples to feed him, so we did just that. I managed to capture this photo as he happily enjoyed a few apples we tossed his way on our final morning there.

Fairhope Pier Under a Fiery Horizon
Fairhope, AL

Went out for sunset last week with my wife and chose the Fairhope Pier. The sky was mostly cloudy, but there was a small opening right where the sun was going to set. A few minutes later, the clouds lit up in brilliant shades of red, yellow, and orange. It was one of the more vivid sunsets I’ve seen this year. I tried several compositions, but this one stood out as my favorite.

Up Close with the Cahaba Lily
West Blocton, AL

Late day photos of the Cahaba Lilies taken a few weeks back towards the end of the peak bloom, I've heard there are a few small clusters of the flowers around the river. While I was out in the river wondering around the clusters of flowers I decided to take some more intamate photos of the flowers rather than wide open landscape of the river.

SweetCreek Farm Market Peacock
Pike Rd, AL

On a recent road trip we made a stop at SweetCreek Farm Market because we enjoyed it so much the last time a few years back. This time I had my camera with me to take pictures of the beatiful peacock that they keep on the property.

Stillness at Weston Lake
Congaree National Park, SC

Other than the fireflies, there wasn’t much to photograph in Congaree. I still brought my camera just in case. That morning, we walked the boardwalk loop and found Weston Lake calm, with soft, gentle light, so I set up and captured a few shots. This one ended up being my favorites from inside the Park.

Crescent Moon Over the Port City
Mobile, AL

This was taken early last month while I was out shooting night cityscapes. As I looked up, I noticed the crescent moon setting and started searching for a spot where I could line it up over the skyline. The city felt especially alive that night, with the RSA towers and surrounding buildings glowing in a mix of unexpected colors. It turned into one of those moments where everything came together just right, with the moon settling into place above a skyline lit in many colors.

Shrimpboat Reflections in Rose Light
Bayou La Batre, AL

I didn’t expect much from the sunset that day, but just before the sun slipped below the horizon the sky surprised me. The clouds lit up with soft pink and orange, and I’m glad I lingered a little longer or I would’ve missed it.
