Congratulations Ar.B.V Doshi for receiving the pritzker prize 2018. This photo was taken in November 2017 in Mill owners association building Ahmedabad during the living Lightly exhibition. Mr Doshi after visiting the exhibition, found a quite nook in the building and was observing something. I wondered if he was thinking about Corbusier, his teacher who designed the building.
During a informal question answer round with some young students afterwords, he said that the design and concept should be such simple that even your grandmother can under that.

The role of symbols is something that can be seen in all works of Poppo Pingel. These symbols are sometimes cast into the materials giving an effect of timelessness.

All the stones put in the swimming pool have a special character and energy in them. They were all chosen by the architect and then transported all the way to the site from afar. The way each stone is placed inside the pool and along the edges has it's own story.

A swimming pool designed by the greatly revered Poppo Pingel. His works are seamlessly connected to their context in a macro as well as micro level. The magic of his works lies in the understanding of people at a very humane level. The delicate detail of textures, lights, form, energy and more importantly how they all come together and manifest into architecture shows this.

Our first venture as independent designers!

Pink 12 is the realization of a long cherished dream by the Prabhakar family. Jyoti Prabhakar, my mother, left her well paid and secure govt job to start a clothing boutique, her dream. It was something she always wanted to do. This collection is the sincere effort of Studio बिम्ब to document the making of this beautiful dream.
Note: All the wood used is reclaimed pallet wood.
