There is so much that took place on Kelly & Andrew's wedding day that it's hard to know where to start! . . . But I suppose in a nutshell their day was full to the brim with romance, laughter, and a dash of whimsy. I love how effortlessly both Kelly & Andrew are with one another, and there were so many storytelling moments that I wanted to share in this extended sneak peek!
Kelly & Andrew chose the St Clair Inn as their wedding venue and the day started with the bride getting ready in one of the on-site cottages overlooking the water. Kelly had so many pretty bridal details and it was fun getting all the sparkly, sentimental details together! Sprinkled throughout their day were details that told the personalities of Andrew & Kelly including nods to travel (both Kelly & Andrew are pilots for Delta), Disney (big Disney fans), and their ties to the military ties (in my 9 years of photographing weddings, I had never seen a fallen soldier table before at a reception and I found it beautifully touching).
After Kelly stepped into her gorgeous wedding dress, she shared an emotional first look with her bridesmaids. Before Kelly could met Andrew for their first touch, though, a minor wedding dress malfunction happened with the clasp of Kelly's dress. But a quick thinking (and handy!) bridesmaid was able to fix it with a needle and thread! Kelly and Andrew decided not to see each other before the ceremony, but they wanted to share their personal vows with each other. They were able to hold hands and hear their words of affection and vows for their lives together in the hidden speakeasy on the property.
The memorable moments just kept rolling throughout the ceremony starting with a groomsmen who walked down the aisle Star Lord-style as their "flower man" (and who also handed out airplane bottles of alcohol to a few lucky guests in between petal tosses). Andrew had his back turned until the moment he knew Kelly had arrived at the aisle and when he finally turned around he couldn't stop the tears that fell. As the couple was pronounced Mr. & Mrs., a freighter was passing by and blasted its whistle in celebration! A champagne tower kicked off cocktail hour and a toaster (complete with actual toast, that ended up burning!) was given during the toasts portion of dinner. Dancing kicked off with a combined parents dance and then all the women, from Mom's to Aunts to friends, encircled Kelly and all took turns hugging the bride in celebration of this new beginning of this new chapter of her life!
