Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Dickson! 🥂
It was a brisk winter day in Mount Pleasant, NC, yet the atmosphere was warm - full of love, sunshine, and roaring fireplaces. The way their friends and family showed up to cheer them on made it clear they are meant to be. Everyone was so happy to attend and show their support, and a wonderful time was had by all. I'm so thankful to have been a part of documenting their love story, first with their proposal, then with Cat's bridal portraits, and now with their wedding. It's been a joy the whole way. Thanks so much for inviting me along!

This perfect fall day was definitely one of my November highlights! The weather could not have been better, everyone was in good spirits, all the details came together, and most importantly, by the end of the day Andrew and Tori were married and off to a great start on their lifelong adventure together.

Congrats, Tori and Andrew! It was beautiful, you and your family/friends were so great to be around, and I'm so thankful you asked me to document this part of your story for you.

Cookbook unboxing! It's finally here and after months of photographing, editing, and waiting, I'm seeing the photos in print for the first time. It feels a little like Christmas to see the images in a tangible form. The book itself is high quality with thick paper, cloth binding, and gold page edges. I also designed the postcard that comes with the box, which can be redeemed at Louie and Honey's Kitchen for a free cinnamon roll. Only 1000 copies of this version of the book were printed, and I don't know how many are left, but if you have a sweet tooth or like to try new recipes, pick up a copy!

Naomi enjoys photography and took many of the photos herself as she worked her way through the recipes. My contributions include the cover, the chapter transition images, and several step-by-step recipes where Naomi needed her actions photographed as she did them, as well as a few single images to go along with some of the recipes. As I flip through the book in the video, I try to pause and get closer to the photos that I contributed. The photos I attached to this post are examples of some of the images that I took that are in the book.

So thankful for this opportunity to be a part of this project and hope to have more in the future!

Tony has a small collection of film cameras and enjoys taking photos on his travels like I do, and when Becca reached out and asked if I would shoot their engagement entirely on film, I enthusiastically said yes! There is an added pressure when shooting with film, since there is little-to-no margin for error, but I believe it helps me think creatively and pushes me to be intentional and thoughtful with every shot. I used 3 different cameras during their session, each having a slightly different visual flavor. Film is special because it is raw, nostalgic, and atmospheric. First time working in Charleston, SC area and hopefully not the last. The Spanish moss, palm trees, and oak-lined driveway made for lots of new scenes and backdrops for me as a photographer. The day was full of the beauty of summer and so much love for this sweet couple. Thank you, Madison and Blake, for inviting me along!

On a lovely May Saturday, the Kings invited their family and friends to witness their union. They gathered at their church for the ceremony, followed by continued celebrations at nearby Tanglewood Park. Their love for each other shined brightly, as did the warm golden hour sun. I'm so thankful I was able to capture this part of their love story and that they were blessed with such a beautiful day! Congratulations to the Kings!

Excited to share that the first book cover that I've ever photographed is being published later this year! Photographing for printed publications has always been a dream of mine - I was thinking more along the lines of magazine stories and journalism type of stuff, but a cover of a hardback book - even better! So when Naomi invited me to be a part of this project I was super excited. I contributed photographs that will accompany the recipes in both versions of the book, but what I am most eager to get in my hands is a physical copy of the limited edition book that has my photograph on the front. The regular version of the book is available for pre-order now, and the special edition will be released for pre-order soon. I'll share the link as soon as I have it. The book will contain recipes and stories passed on to Naomi through her Amish heritage, including one for cinnamon rolls, which her and her daughter's bakery Louie and Honey's Kitchen is quite famous for. If you pick up a copy, your life will get more delicious, I guarantee.
