Last night was absolutely lovely 🤍 I had such a good time with Heidi and Cavin and it was hard to narrow down photos for a sneak peek! As I reflected on my time the words steady and joyful came to my mind to describe Cavin and Heidi, respectively. And those traits will serve them so well as they welcome their sweet baby girl into the world! So excited for them to begin this new journey 🥰

Just a few favorites from a recent extended family session 🥰 I had so much fun meeting all of this sweet family!

Life has been so very busy and full (in many good ways). Lots more content to come as I approach more sessions and weddings these next couple months! It’s turning out to be the busiest year since moving and taking a break 3 years ago and I’m so very honored to be capturing so many memories again 🥹

It’s easy to let insecurities hold us back from a lot of things. Our weight changes, our tired eyes, the growing number of wrinkles in a world that places so much emphasis on the outer can make us feel less than. But if how you look right now is keeping you from getting in pictures.. whether that’s by a photographer or by a phone.. don’t let it. This is who your kids see and love every day. We don’t know what tomorrow will bring. Make sure your kids have pictures to look back on someday to remember one of the most important people in their life ❤️

I don’t know if a Friday introduction post is necessary at this point or not lol. But figured this would be a good time to share my heart behind my business and some things I’m working on in the background right now!

I’ve tried to keep encouragement in marriage and motherhood at the forefront of my business. I love taking beautiful pictures, but it’s the people and relationships that exist in those photos that are the most beautiful! I want you to understand your why for those photos and to see the beauty and purpose of the season you’re in.

Anyways I’m working on my website again and working on adding more features that will hopefully bring value to my followers and clients that goes beyond providing pretty pictures. Sharing more encouragement, book recommendations, favorite kid items, etc. This has been the heart of my business from the beginning and I’m excited to be working on ways to further bring it to fruition ❤️

I sometimes struggle to know how to show up in this space. Only posting pretty pictures or trying to be sales-y has never felt like me. And so I try to frequently find ways to be encouraging.

But right now, I feel like adding my own thoughts online will only be more noise. There’s so much noise on here. So many voices sharing their thoughts and opinions. Anything worthwhile for me to say right now can be found in the Word of God. Not in political ideas, not in arguments or rhetoric - even my own words of general encouragement would feel feeble right now. There’s no lasting hope in anything on this earth. My hope is in Christ alone, and Jesus Christ is the encouragement I offer you. Right now, I don’t want to be one more voice except to gently encourage you to get offline and go love on your families and those around you. Go spend time in nature. Go read a book - and I’d love to encourage you to start with the Bible. If you’ve never read it, please give it a chance.

The world is heavy - we can see that from the past couple weeks alone, but also all throughout history - and we were never meant to carry the weight of all of it. That’s meant for an omniscient, omnipotent God and him alone. The only one who can and will one day make all things new.

I’m going to take a break from social media for a bit. But please feel free to send me an email or a text if you need/want to reach me or have any questions at all. Thankful for each of you and I care about each of you, truly.

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” John 8:12
